Race for a Cause Apr 6, 2021 Captains For Clean Water, the Florida-based advocacy group founded to address the state’s water issues, said this year’s iteration of the Florida Skiff Challenge will kick off April 8 at Flora-Bama on Perdido Key in the Panhandle. The 1,300-mile, nonstop race around the Florida peninsula is expected to finish April 10 at Fernandina Beach. Race founders said that the Skiff Challenge started as a battle for bragging rights and evolved into an annual event that spotlights the state’s water issues, led by CFCW and boatbuilders.
