After the completion of emergency repairs, and another inspection, all evacuated residents at a building in Brunswick Point Apartment Homes in Leland have been allowed to return, according to a news release from the town. Last week, reports of two separate injuries at 1008 Hunterstone Drive prompted the Town of Leland to evacuate a portion of the building on April 14. Inspectors found structurally compromised stairways and started the condemnation process on all buildings at the complex but the issue was serious enough at one building to be a violation of the N.C. Fire Code. First- and second-floor residents of the building were able to return to their units on Friday and third-floor residents were granted access on Tuesday, said Hilary Snow, communications officer.
