Federal agents arrested an Arizona man Wednesday in Mesa on suspicion of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a girl in Yuma, the U.S. Marshals Service announced in a news release.
In July 2018, Ricardo Ruan, 24, reportedly assaulted a 15-year-old girl at his home in Yuma, according to the news release. Ruan is accused of physically assaulting the victim, which prevented her from being able to leave the home, before sexually assaulting her.
The girl ultimately lost consciousness and was abandoned alone in the home, the release stated.
On April 22, Yuma County indicted Ruan on multiple counts of sexual assault of a minor, multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor and kidnapping. Yuma police then discovered Ruan left the Yuma area, and on April 23, 2021 they requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service's Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force to find and arrest him.
