Riding into Salina for EquiFest of Kansas Jayden Smith/Salina Journal EquiFest continues this year, as it tries to provide a sense of normalcy despite the constant presence of the surrounding COVID-19 pandemic. Visitors will find live performances, demonstrations, retail vendors and workshops within the Tony's Pizza Events Center (TPEC), Agricultural Hall Arena, Great Plains Manufacturing Convention Hall, 4-H Building and the Saline County Livestock and Expo Center. The traditional nature of Kansas and the surrounding Midwest as ranching and farming states have contributed to why EquiFest is as large an event as it has been yearly. Event manager Justine Staten expressed that horses and the many functions they serve are a part of drawing interest from visitors.
