Ellie Starks, right, a member of the Shorewood marketing department, and Laurie Campion, Shorewood resident services director, hand a personal pie through a car window Sunday at the Rochester senior living facility. Sunday, March 14, is known as Pi Day because the date reflects the mathematic constant, pi, which is abbreviated to 3.14. (John Molseed / jmolseed@postbulletin.com)
Mathematically, pi is a long, messy number.
Culinarily, preparing 250 miniature pies for Pi Day at Rochester's Shorewood Senior Campus was easy.
“They weren’t as hard to make as we thought they’d be,” said Cheth Kuch, director of dining services at Shorewood.
