Well i mean honestly jesse i dont know enough about the science of whats going on right now i just know that the ocean it represents a place for people to you know maybe deal with their anxiety or just take a break from you know the stress that that the pandemic is creating in you know like like i mean i dont think they closed central park and i know that theres theyre trying to create places for people to be able to you know go into nature during during this time i mean the one thing that we do deal with is is that we have such a high volume of people that if they you know leave beaches open you know then youll have youll have the problem of you know a large group of people congregating but you know like in hawaii for example all the beaches are open you just have to go directly to the water and then be in the water and come to you know and when you come in go to your car and and keep us you know keep keep social distancing but you know its i mean its something that youd have to consider if you dont like is it worth the ticket to for the sanity you know so i think and thats a thats thats that comes to a bigger question i guess sure now due to the corona outbreak the 2020 a limb picks in japan the been postponed to look at least 2021 for now they could get could be back on track to that point in time how do you think the olympics is going to deal with history if it the limpets will happen on time because they now have surfin him 11th attacks which is unique to move yeah well you know i think its a complicated situation because you have so many come you know countries coming from you know. You know safely given what we know at this point now this is the 1st time surfers can compete timea lympics now the competition is is limited to short boards do you know any of the competitors and are there unique challenges for surfers compared to other athletes who compete me 11th attacks. Well i and i if im not mistaken there theyre going to im not sure where theyre running it if theyre running it in a wave you know generating. You know paul up there if in that kind of a thing you have a you know you have a you know reliability with you know with that that kind of allows surfers you know a little bit more of an even platform that mean the real issue really is is that you know we need waves and the ocean in storms and create the create the surf and so you know its hard to have that on you know at 12 oclock noon on sunday and thats always been the issue with kind of you know so putting subjecting surfing in the art of surfing to you know kind of the constraints of trying to you know of a gather you know a gathering in a sport. Type type platform but you know i had theres some young at the surface from every different country so we have some surfers that that i know some of the younger guys that are that are going to try to qualify for the olympics i mean again you know were still. Itll be the 1st time and so itll be interesting to see you know how how they how they you know how they pull that off but its just one you know its its i think its difficult for me as a noncompetitive surfer to understand sometimes the way you know the way these formats work its going to be a little bit like like gymnastics where you might be sometimes confused by the outcome. Not now laird youve said previously youd like to see stand up paddle board racing in the olympics that would be very interesting wouldnt it why do you think paddleboarding has yet to be included. You know im not sure i think i think we need a demo part of it i think its because we dont have enough of an organized tour around stand up paddling the fact is for you know it would go really well kind of with all of the paddling events that they have in the olympics and you know again its racing it would be time distance i mean these are really definable measurements so easy to determine you know a winner in a loser but yeah i think i think a lot of it has to do with that week that there isnt a much as much organisation in the in the professional aspect of stand up that mostly its being done being done recreationally i think thats whats causing. The delay but theres no doubt in my mind that stand up talent will be in a limbic discipline you know will it be in the surveying you know category or will it be in the racing category it would make more sense to me to be in the racing category now your books offer ways for people to stay positive and see pappy ness we need that right now more than ever i think give us some tips on the how people can do this well you know i think i think you know somebody asked me just recently i was asked you know where i get my courage from and and i said and it was and it was actually the 1st time that id been kind of thought about that question and the answer surprised me a little bit but that but it but it made the most sense was that i got it through faith and that and believing that believing right with thats where i got my courage from believing that id be ok believing i could do it believing in you know you believing in that that there is you know something greater and thats something thats keeping everything held together and and you know and i think that thats i think that some.
