(WSFA) - Underserved communities across Alabama will soon receive broadband services thanks to nearly $17 million approved by Gov. Kay Iveyâs office. On Tuesday, Iveyâs office awarded 36 grants to multiple broadband providers in primarily rural, unserved areas of the state. The grants are the largest amount and number awarded to date by the Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund, created by the legislature in 2018.
