Salinas teachers get vaccinated amid nationwide push to open

Alyse Herrera and Meredith Jones teach at Salinas City Elementary School District (SCESD). After a year of uncertainty, the educators said there's "hope in sight."  
On Thursday, they were among many at Salinas Valley PrimeCare Medical Group to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine. Herrera and Jones will receive their second dose of the vaccine on March 25.
"This is one of those steps for us where it’s like, 'OK, this is going to make me feel more comfortable going back into the classroom,'" Herrera said. "It’s going to make a whole lot of other teachers feel more comfortable going back into the classroom."
