Scholarly groups choose between speech, silence on Gaza war

In the continuing debate over when, and how, higher education entities should comment on political issues like the Israel-Hamas war, disciplinary associations have received less attention.  When the American Association of University Professors last week called for “an immediate ceasefire and end to the siege of Gaza,” it was just the latest union to endorse the same labor movement statement.
