Schools in northern Alberta exempted from public health order move online after confirmed COVID-19 cases

Two schools with confirmed COVID-19 cases in a northern Alberta county have moved students to online learning days after being given an exemption to the province’s online schooling mandate.
Alberta’s latest public health restrictions, announced last week, meant K-12 students in COVID-19 hot spots meeting case thresholds would have to move from in-person to online, but Hutterite and Mennonite schools were among those given an exemption.
