Seattle to join in nationwide memorial to COVID victims

SEATTLE - The city of Seattle will join in a nationwide memorial Tuesday to honor those who have lost their lives to the COVID pandemic.
The memorial, scheduled as part of the inauguration President-elect Joseph R. Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala D. Harris, will include a special lighting of some downtown buildings and the ringing of the Kobe Friendship Bell at Seattle Center.
The program "emphasizes the importance of looking back and remembering the lives we have lost to COVID-19 as we look forward to the hope of a new path and a brighter future," organizers said.
