Selling marijuana at your local convenience store There is one group that could destroy the cannabis dispensary industry in the U.S. and transform the industry as a whole — and it’s your local convenience store. The powerful lobbying arm of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) has its eyes set on selling packaged cannabis products once they become legal — and if it does it could spell the demise of the cannabis dispensary. To be clear, the group has no position on the topic of legalization. It doesn’t advocate for it or support any political groups that work towards full legalization. However, if legalization does occur, the group is getting prepared to be able to sell the products and it isn’t just hemp-derived CBD products. This would be adult-use cannabis currently sold in dispensaries in legalized states.
