We are definitely pioneers in airport concession world a world of nationally if not entirely or internationally everybody is cop us right now. The people that were in charge of the retail this is where that began. I didnt think we would have a location at the airport. Weve set the bar higher with the customer commerce. Telling me about the operator and how you go about finding them and they get from being in the city to being in the airport. So first, we actually find a table and once we know what we want a sitdown we go to the neighborhoods in San Francisco and other people seminary of the retail let us know about the rain water and are excited to have the local operators in the airport. We have to go going through the conceive selective process and they award a lease to the restaurant. They are planning on extending. We that you could out the china and the length evens and the travel serve and fourth your minds and its all good. How long for a vendor to move through the process. I would say it could take 80 up to a year from the time we go out to bid until they actually open a restaurant. I dont know what we signed up for but the airport is happy to have us here. And, you know, even taking out the track simple things theres a learning curve with once were here they are helpful. Its an awardwinning program. Were prude of your awards we have won 11 awards the latest for the best overall food address Beverage Program and. Like the oscars laughter . The professional world. Tell me about the future food. All the sb national leases are xooirz and were hoping to bring newer concepts out in San Francisco and what your passengers want. Well, i look forward to the future laughter air are we look fo is our United States constitution requires every ten years that america counts every human being in the United States, which is incredibly important for many reasons. Its important for preliminary representation because if Political Representation because if we under count california, we get less representatives in congress. Its important for San Francisco because if we dont have all of the people in our city, if we dont have all of the folks in california, california and San Francisco stand to lose billions of dollars in funding. Its really important to the city of San Francisco that the federal government gets the count right, so weve created count sf to motivate all sf count to motivate all citizens to participate in the census. For the immigrant community, a lot of people arent sure whether they should take part, whether this is something for u. S. Citizens or whether its something for anybody whos in the yUnited States, and it is something for everybody. Census counts the entire population. Weve given out 2 million to over 30 communitybased organizations to help people do the census in the communities where they live and work. Weve also partnered with the Public Libraries here in the city and also the Public Schools to make sure there are informational materials to make sure the folks do the census at those sites, as well, and weve initiated a campaign to motivate the citizens and make sure they participate in census 2020. Because of the language issues that many Chinese Community and families experience, there is a lot of mistrust in the federal government and whether their private information will be kept private and confidential. So its really important that communities like bayviewhunters point participate because in the past, theyve been under counted, so what that means is that funding that should have gone to these communities, it wasnt enough. Were going to help educate people in the tenderloin, the multicultural residents of the tenderloin. You know, any one of our given blocks, theres 35 different languages spoken, so we are the original u. N. Of San Francisco. So its our job is to educate people and be able to familiarize themselves on doing this census. You go online and do the census. Its available in 13 languages, and you dont need anything. Its based on household. You put in your address and answer nine simple questions. How many people are in your household, do you rent, and your information. Your name, your age, your race, your gender. Everybody is 2,000 in funding for our child care, housing, food stamps, and medical care. All of the residents in the city and county of San Francisco need to be counted in census 2020. If youre not counted, then your community is underrepresented and will be underserved. Thank you president yee and good afternoon supervisors. I think we all agree that theres always more we can do to make our local government function better for our residents. Its often a way to bureaucratic and inaccessible for regular people who just want to find out information sometimes. Earlier this year, San Francisco accomplished something that i know all of us were very proud of. At a time of great crisis, when the covid19 pandemic was emerging in america, we led the nation in crushing the curve and saving countless lives. We did it in no small part because we acts as one city. We worked. And we all supported the stay at home order. While we saw early success, we know this pandemic is far from being over. Yesterday i hosted a conversation that under scored the seriousness of the situation were in. Our hospitalizations are at a level we havent seen since flattening the curve. Our case numbers are reaching new highs and the rate of reproduction in San Francisco has climbed to 1. 25, well above the 1. 0 number needed to keep the virus flat. So while it may be easy at times to forget about the virus, we know that it hasnt forgotten about us. I was reminded of had again last week when supervisor walton and i were exposed to the virus but someone who knowingly went to a public event after they were told that they had covid19. Im still upset about it, clearly. The issues were facing right now is largely not from people acting recklessly but some people are getting complacent and making irresponsible decisions. Right now, we have a window of time to get things under control. Weve crushed the curve once and we can do it again. To do that, we need to get this message out to the public. Wear your masks we should not have to act like were someones parents. Avoid gatherings with people outside of your households. Wash your hands. Make smart decisions. Use commonsense. As elected officials, we should use use our platform, whatever we have, to really start to elevate this conversation, im sure you are getting it from the Small Business community. When are we going to open the schools and business, how are we going to get things back on track. This is stressful. Im concerned. Im upset, we all are. I want us to remember, life as we know it does not exist right now and it wont exist in the same way for at least anywhere between 12 and 18 months. Its time to get adjusted to our new normal and that new normal means we all have to be accountable to one another. We have to follow a new system that makes us uncomfortable. And we also have to get used to uncertainty. I know everyones used to a schedule with their kids and what theyre going to do the next day and how aim going to take care of this and when are we going to get back to life as we know it. We cant get complacent or think that weve beaten this pandemic and we have it. We do not want to undo the progress we made. You know that San Francisco has been a model. If we want to see our Small Businesses reopen, if we want to see kids get back into school, if we want to see this happen, we have to do more. Its hard but i believe in San Francisco. So lets show everyone what were capable of. Thank you supervisors. Thank you press yee. Supervisor yee thank you, madam chair. Im not making a joke but, i just wanted to emphasize what you just said. Always have your mask with you. You dont know when you are going to run no someone. I am right there. Supervisor yee thank you, very much. And have a nice day. And well go over our agenda. Operations, please send the individual through. To make his Public Comment. Hello, caller welcome to the meeting. Caller hi. Thank you. My name is zack and im a disability advocate and community organizer. Id like to start off my comment by wishing everyone here present a happy bass till day, this is a french holiday and its important to historical significance when Common People rose up against the monarchies to fight for this thing that we also dearly love known as democracy. It is with tha that i heard the mayor which is heartfelt and helpful but i wonder how much come it does not effect they have on the spread a virus. On march 30th, the mayor released a memorandum that denied the public our traditional right to access public records for this city, which is a huge blow to democracy. It suspended the sunshine ordinance that required 14day periods for public records. The mayor office and disability have canceled disability meetings for five months now and its really concerning and there have been really other concerns uses of the covid19 and not respond to public request for help to disability requests for help and to public records and much more. The two lawsuits filed of sexual abuses against disabled patients at laguna honda is the show of the lack of priority protecting those most severely at risk for covid19 and other Health Ailments including disability and seniors. Thank you for your time and please stop cutting down our trees. It is another huge problem. The 24th street canopy will be cut down at a e p. M. Tomorrow and i encourage everyone to attend. Come at 5 00 p. M. Tomorrow over zoom. Please fight for our public trees. That the city has been cutting down during the covid19 pandemic even though pollution is closely linked with the spread of the virus. Thank you, caller and madam clerk for arranging this accommodation. So, we are a proving the minutes from the june 4th, 2020 meeting and the june 9th, 2020 regular board meeting.
