Shankaran Nambiar is Senior Research Fellow and Head of Research and Senior Research Fellow at the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research, is also a distinguished member of the academic advisory council at the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). As Visiting Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, Nambiar brings a wealth of expertise to his research role. Nambiar's international engagements include being a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund and fellowships at the ASEAN Studies Center, Universitas Gadjah Mada and the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, Singapore. Renowned for his insightful op-eds in publications such as Nikkei Asian Review and Jakarta Post, Nambiar is also an accomplished author with notable works on Sen's Capability Approach and Institutions, along with four books on the Malaysian economy.
