The state's department of public health said it will also follow CDC guidance on face coverings, which means fully vaccinated people won't be required to wear masks in most instances.
The mask mandate expiration can't come soon enough for some attending Sacramento's Midtown Farmers Market on Saturday.
"If I don't have to I won't be," said Tyguenne Solomon about mask-wearing. "I understand it's a personal opinion, and some people still will be, but I will be one that will be ready to be free."
