SHARE STORY Off-road gearheads with Blue Oval tattoos were left crying into their axle grease in past years when it was revealed a Raptor variant of the mid-sized Ranger pickup truck would not be offered in the North American market. Now, spy photographers have caught what appears to be such a machine testing on the street of Detroit — but you’ll forgive us if we remain more than a bit skeptical. You see, Ford has teased us with clues of a forthcoming Ranger Raptor in the past. We’ve reported on variants being spotted back in 2018, with more rumours in 2019, culminating with the lukewarm Tremor that appeared in 2020 as a tide-me-over. At least someone in Texas had the good sense to build what Ford has (so far) refused to offer in this country.
