State and local governments, climate advocates, and environmental justice leaders have been at the forefront of achieving climate success and confronting systemic racism and inequality and will continue to champion progress during the current administration and beyond. Monumental strides have occurred across the country, including state legislation developed with environmental justice advocates to protect environmentally overburdened communities; community-based conservation programs and campaigns; and new state and local commitments to renewable energy. Continued progress will grow even faster with federal partnership and coordination.
