Storm Tracker Forecast: Cloudy and not as warm today Morning fog, cloudy skies, a slight chance for showers, and a modest dip in temperatures are all ahead for your Friday. We'll clear out and warm up this weekend. Gusty winds and a modest cooling trend are ahead for the start of next week. Posted: Jan 15, 2021 6:09 AM Posted By: Cort Klopping You can expect some changes on the way in your Friday forecast. High pressure off the coast in the Pacific is still the dominating feature in our weather pattern, but low pressure tracking into the Pacific Northwest will bring increased cloud cover and a dip in temperatures for your Friday. We'll also have potential for areas of dense fog from Butte and Glenn Counties to the south in the valley today, and that is where a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 11am. Clouds overhead could act to limit fog in our area, but dense fog has already developed to out south. Anyone driving towards Yuba City or Sacramento should give themselves extra time to get to where they're going early today. Skies will be mostly to partly cloudy across northern California today and most models are keeping our regin dry. There is a very slight chance for a band of sprinkles dropping into our region late today into tonight, but that's unlikely to happen due to the high pressure in place. Temperatures are starting out in the 30's to 40's in the valley, 40's to lower 50's in the foothills, and 20's to 30's in the mountains early today. Winds will mostly be light but east winds to 10mph are possible in the Sierra and foothills. High temperatures are projected to end up in the mid to high 60's in the valley, mid 50's to mid 60's in the foothills, and in the 50's to lower 60's in our mountain areas this afternoon.
