2021 Striper Migration Map Striped bass are moving out of Chesapeake Bay and Delaware River spawning grounds. Schoolies are spreading north to Maine, and larger stripers are trickling into southern New England. Follow along as we track the Striper Migration. Chesapeake Bay Striper Report Striped bass are spawning in the lower Susquehanna River and surrounding areas, while post-spawn striped bass are moving out of the Choptank, Nanticoke, Patuxent, and Potomac rivers. Chesapeake Bay anglers are excited to be able to fish for the large post-spawn striped bass as they exit the spawning rivers and head out of the bay. The Chesapeake Bay is now open for striped bass fishing from Brewerton Channel to the Virginia state line, excluding all bays (other than the main stem), sounds, tributaries, creeks and rivers, except Tangier Sound and Pocomoke Sound, is open to striped bass fishing for fish 35 inches or larger, with a one fish per person per day creel limit. 2021 regulations for recreational striped bass fishing in the Chesapeake Bay are available on the DNR website.
