Created: July 22, 2021 04:12 PM (ABC 6 News) - It has been 30 years since Dr. Joey Page walked the halls of Austin High School as a student, and now he's back with a new title. Dr. Page's first day as superintendent for Austin Public Schools was July 1, and it was a kind of homecoming for the Austin native. "I attended Sumner Elementary and middle school at Ellis and then graduated from Austin High School," Page said. He said a lot has changed since his days as a student. "I think the demographics are different in not only the schools but in the community. Structurally, things are different too. Walking back into the high school, it's undergone amazing transformations," Page said.
