LA MESA — In his first press conference since being sworn into office Jan. 4, San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson called on his fellow board members and other officials Wednesday to follow scientific evidence in fighting the spread of COVID-19 and to consistently and fairly apply enforcement of rules related to the health crisis. Standing outside Nonno’s Ristorante Italiano in La Mesa, Anderson said he isn’t proposing any new action, but would like the county to base its COVID-19 enforcement policies on medical science rather than “political science” going forward, and he urged people to examine the county’s practices on their own.
