During a time when their patios would typically be packed, they had to close their doors due COVID-19 safety protocols. One year later, many local spots are still working to get back on their feet. Austin Tex-Mex staple El Arroyo, well known for its witty signs on the corner of Fifth Street, hasn't struggled with business as much as some, but owner Ellis Winstanley said many mom-and-pop shops are taking it one day at a time.
