Survivor is a staple show in my house. My daughter is obsessed with it. When I told her one of the stars and winners of a previous season Ethan Zohn lived in New England she freaked out. Originally from Massachusetts, he then went on to be a soccer player, author, speaker, and reality television star.
So, you might ask the question, what drew Ethan Zohn to New Hampshire? According to an article on nhmagazine.com, it was his health. The two-time cancer survivor was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma back in 2009 and tells nhmagzine.com, “I had my first stem cell transplant which worked for me for about 20 months. In 2022, just after I got home from playing in the “Amazing Race,” I relapsed and had a second stem cell transplant, using my brother, Lee. That was in 2012. I’m nine years in remission.” He left New York and didn’t look back embracing the fresh air of New Hampshire as opposed to the grittiness of New York City. Always an outdoorsman, New Hampshire was a perfect fit for Zohn.
