Syracuse’s $74M STEAM school: When will classes begin? Who will pay? Updated Jan 20, 2021; Facebook Share Syracuse, N.Y. – City leaders say the new countywide high school focusing on arts and sciences could enroll its first students by the fall of 2022. With 18 months until it’s expected to open, many questions about costs and curriculum remain. But city officials are starting to sort out those details, as well as how students will apply for 250 slots that will be available each fall. The $74 million project that will renovate the downtown Central Tech school has been delayed slightly because of the coronavirus, Mayor Ben Walsh said.
