View Comments A 25-year-old Thousand Oaks man was arrested on suspicion of arson after a small brushfire was extinguished early Wednesday along Highway 101, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. The California Highway Patrol received the call at 3:12 a.m. and arrived within about a minute. A Southern California Edison employee had reported seeing a man start a fire near the Rancho Road offramp of northbound Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks. Sheriff's Cmdr. Steve Jenkins said CHP arrived quickly, found the man a Pub Info nd took him into custody. The Ventura County Fire Department arrived with a full brushfire response by 3:16 a.m. and was able to stop the fire from growing by 3:46 a.m., when it reached about an acre in size.
