Lewis & Clark Humane Society officials in Helena say that June, July, and August tend to have the highest number of animals brought into the shelter. âPeople tend to go camping, they go boating, they go hiking, and they take their pets with them,â said Cassidy Cook, LCHS director of development and communications. âWhat happens is, pets run off.â There are steps pet owners can take to better their chances of being reunited with their pet, should it get lost.
