Talk of toll gates turns to Tommy guns Commissioners hear saga of heavy firepower Discussion of toll booth charges unexpectedly turned to machineguns at a Wichita County Commissioners meeting Monday. The agenda item was an innocuous toll road charge incurred by a county vehicle Dec. 30 in the Dallas area, but Pct.1 Constable Mike Little revealed the trip was to transport four machine guns and two sawed-off shotguns from Wichita County to a constable precinct in Dallas. Little said the guns ranged from AK-47s to Swedish machineguns and a Thompson submachinegun. “These automatic weapons and sawed-off shotguns were signed over to Mark Brewer 15 or 20 years ago for some unknown reason,” Little told commissioners.
