1/1 A teen pair who said they confronted a man after he used a racial slur have been cleared of attempted robbery. Prosecutors claimed Ezekiel Tommy Amusan and Mickaydel Israel Ayee had squared up to their alleged victim – a historian in Oxford for a conference in July 2019 – and asked ‘what he had for them’ then said he had a nice watch. But the two young men – both still under-18 when the incident happened – denied the alleged robbery bid. Oxford Crown Court heard they had challenged the Austrian historian after he had ‘barged’ past them as they walked down Cricket Road, Cowley, on their way to a party on July 12, 2019.
