Instead, it was the day she watched her 15-year-old daughter take her final breath. Leyva, along with her husband and three children, were at a car dealership in Odessa looking at vehicles when a rampaging gunman opened fire. Her son, Nathan, was wounded in the arm. The shot that struck Leilah Hernandez, a student at Odessa High School, proved fatal.
