The Summer Olympics Will Be Full of Local Athletes
That video above courtesy News West 9 in the Permian Basin shows the family of Bryce Hoppel going absolutely bananas after he qualified for the Olympics in the 800 meters at the US Track and Field Trials. Hoppel took third place in the race to secure his trip to Tokyo.
Hoppel ran track at Midland High before heading to the Kanas Jayhawks to run in the Big 12.
Hoppel clocked a time of 1:44.14 which was his best time of the season. He joins Clayton Murphy and Isaiah Jewett on Team USA running the 800.
