City leaders seek over the long term to revamp Fairfield’s core business area – from West Texas Street through the downtown along Texas Street – from a primarily strip commercial area to one that mixes businesses and housing to take advantage of mass transit options located nearby and to make the plan area more pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly.
