Hebei Sports Institute Authorities in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong have placed millions of people under COVID-19 restrictions, amid reports of adverse reactions to homegrown coronavirus vaccines in northern China. Nobody is allowed to leave the provincial capital Guangzhou without a negative COVID-19 test during the three days prior to departure, with some 15 million people affected by the new rules. Mass testing is under way in some areas of Guangzhou, as well as in the nearby cities of Foshan and Shenzhen, which borders Hong Kong. As of Monday, Guangzhou had reported 42 COVID-19 infections, including 34 confirmed and eight asymptomatic cases.
