Apr 7, 2021 >>Man Wanted for Killing Four People in Reading Arrested in Florida (Reading, PA) -- The man who was wanted for killing four people in Reading three years ago is now behind bars. The FBI announced yesterday that Pedro Sanchez-Laporte was arrested at a home in Lake Alfred, Florida. Sanchez-Laporte is facing several felony charges including criminal homicide for his alleged involvement in a gang-related shooting inside an apartment in the one-hundred block of South Third Street in 2018. Officials say he will be returned to Pennsylvania soon. >>Governor Mifflin School District Announces Start Dates for Construction Project (Shillington, PA) -- Construction to upgrade several schools in the Governor Mifflin School District is going to start soon. The school board announced this past Monday that work will begin at the middle school on April 9th and work for the high school is expected to start April 20th. Officials say the project will make significant improvements at the schools including building a new community athletic building on the football practice field. The new center will feature two classrooms and two multi-purpose rooms and it will be able to seat 21-hundred students.
