Top professor declares ‘good day’ in Ireland’s fight against Covid-19 as EU approves jab with two others in pipeline

IRELAND received three major injections of hope in the war against Covid-19 yesterday with a new vaccine approved by the EU and two others coming in the pipeline.
The European Medicines Agency yesterday gave the green light for countries to start using the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine for all people over the age of 18.

American drug company Johnson & Johnson also released data from their vaccine trial which shows their one-shot jab is 66 per cent effective and completely prevented hospitalisations and death from Covid.
