In Maryland, the National Weather Service issued a tropical storm warning that included much of the Eastern Shore, and parts of Southern Maryland. A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area. A tornado watch issued Thursday night for the Lower Eastern Shore was extended, adn then ultimately canceled around 1 a.m. Friday. The watch expired at 11 p.m. in Calvert and St. Mary's counties in Southern Maryland. Ocean City officials tweeted around 12:30 a.m. Friday that Philadelphia Avenue from North Division Street south to the inlet was closed due to flooding. Most downtown roads were experiencing some flooding, officials said.
