SALISBURY, MD- A 80,000 dollar grant is making its way to two counties here on the eastern shore to help with drug overdoses.
It’s part of a 5.5 million dollar program from the Governor’s office, as part of Maryland’s Stop Overdose Strategy.
United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore in Wicomico County and Worcester County Public Schools will be receiving the funding- which advocates for the bill believe will give young people with knowledge and resources to prevent and treat addiction.

In Maryland, the National Weather Service issued a tropical storm warning that included much of the Eastern Shore, and parts of Southern Maryland. A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area.
A tornado watch issued Thursday night for the Lower Eastern Shore was extended, adn then ultimately canceled around 1 a.m. Friday. The watch expired at 11 p.m. in Calvert and St. Mary s counties in Southern Maryland.
Ocean City officials tweeted around 12:30 a.m. Friday that Philadelphia Avenue from North Division Street south to the inlet was closed due to flooding. Most downtown roads were experiencing some flooding, officials said.
