on saturday, we said that based on new satellite information, we can say to high degree of certainty that the aircraft communication addressing reporting system, acars, was disabled just after the aircraft reached the east coast of peninsula malaysia. shortly afterwards, near the border between malaysian/vietnamese air traffic control, the air transponder stopped. these were drafted together with representatives from the lead international investigators, based on the information available at that time. yesterday, malaysian airlines clarified that we cannot determine exactly what acars has been disabled, only that it occurred within a specific time range from 1:07, approximately when the aircraft reached the east coast of peninsula malaysia and the last acars transmission occurred to 1:37, which was the next scheduled reporting time. this is indeed the case. it does not change our belief as stated that up until the point
