there are going to be three procedural votes to move the debate on this bill we have heard so much about, the usa freedom act. that's bill that reforms this data collection programs takes the data out of the hands of the government leave it is with the phone companies that bill passed the house with overwhelming bipartisan support, but it fell just three votes short here last week. they are now going to be trying to move on to that -- to that bill in this series of three votes in about an hour's time. but i should tell you, i think we have a graphic we can put on the screen because of the senate's arcane procedural rules, even if they are able to get that 60-vote threshold they need there are still many many more hours that could pass if all the time is used up before they are going to reach a final vote on this bill. that would put us potentially to that wednesday morning. so, it looks very very likely that unless something unexpected happens, these provisions will lapse at night, but we will be watching closely in an hour to see if they can at least begin to move in the direction of a resolution.
