Gop and its enduring allegiance to donald trump. Live from cnn World Headquarters in atlanta. Welcome to here in the United States, canada and around the world, im Kim Brunhuber. This is cnn newsroom. We begin right here, in the u. S. , where were just hours away from a highlyanticipated jobs report. Economists are predicting there was a hiring boom last month as the economy shows signs of a robust recovery 700,000 to more than two million jobs may have been created this. Comes as covid cases are declining, businesses are reopening, and federal aid is taking effect. This follows a strong showing on thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial closing at a record high. The index gained more than 300 points. And well be hearing from the president on that jobs report, in just a few hours. Joe biden headed to louisiana, thursday, as part of his getting america back on track tour. He touted his economic proposals, to help the middle class and stressed the need to invest in the nations crumbling infrastructure. Cnns Kaitlan Collins has more. We have failed. We have failed to properly invest in infrastructure for half a century. Reporter President Biden pitching his 2. 3 trillion infrastructure plan, in a republican stronghold. Ive never seen a republican or democrat road. I just see road. Reporter while in louisiana, not only did the president defend his proposal to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations to pay for it, he embraced it. All those folks are still going to have two homes and three homes and their jets and it wont matter. Its not going to change one little bit. Reporter biden made the case for his plan to revamp the nations infrastructure in front of the rundown river bridge, 20 years past its prime. The perfect example of how weve neglected as a nation to invest in the future of our economy and the future of our people. Reporter republicans have countered bidens 2. 3 trillion offer with a 600 billion alternative saying the Corporate Tax hike will hurt the growth of american businesses. There is just one problem, there are the facts. Reporter comments like these from gop leader Mitch Mcconnell are raising questions about whether compromise is possible. 100 of our focus is on stopping this new administration. Reporter alongside louisianas democratic governor and lake charles republican mayor, biden argued for bipartisanship outside of washington. Find more support from republican governors and mayors and democratic governors and mayors around the country because they got to answer the question, is life better in this town, in this city, in this state, than it was before i got elected. Reporter when President Biden landed in new orleans, greeted by the states two republican senators, john kennedy and bill cassidy, and that does not believe they agree on an infrastructure proposal just yet because you saw a tweet a few minutes later, theis still a better option. Kaitlan collins, cnn, traveling with the president , in louisiana. Two republicanled states are ending federal pandemic Unemployment Benefits next month. The governors of South Carolina and pandemic say the programs are creating labor shortages by encouraging people to stay out of the work force. The two state leaders to bow out of the landmark federal aid program, and montana is offering cash paimt bonuses to those who start working and there are thousands of Jobs Available and not enough workers to fill them. The u. S. Is getting closer to its coronavirus vaccination goals and closer to normal life. New daily cases in the country are steadily declining and hospitals are having an easier time caring for patients. Nick watt explains where the u. S. Is headed now. Reporter a hamilton ticket back on sale. Cruises almost back. Trial voyages with vaccinated passengers. And kids from jersey soon playing basketball out of state. Things are only going to get better over the summer. I feel extremely optimistic about where were headed. Reporter the covid19 daily infection rate across this country the lowest its been in seven months. And the models projected a sharp decline in cases by july 2021. And an even faster decline if more people get vaccinated sooner. Reporter vaccinations, the only number going the wrong way right now. Average daily doses in arms down 20 in a week. The president s goal . At least one dose in 70 of adults by fourth of july. Some states already there. A few getting close. Some a long way to go. Republicans are most hesitant. But look at this new poll, the percentage of republicans who say never is falling. We have encouraged particularly primary care doctors that all physicians in the state, to personally reach out to people, that they have a relationship with and try to make a case for getting vaccinated. Reporter kim simmons of illinois was hesitant and now fully vaccinated. I dont think it would be good to try to force people to get the vaccine but i think they should think about their family, their community, and herd immunity. I say immunize at least another 80 million to 100 Million People and then when next winter comes it will just be a bump instead of a surge. We can do that. Reporter july 4th, we can probably gather to celebrate independence from the pesky brits but not quite independence from this virus. Here in california, early january, there were over 20,000 people in the hospital fighting this virus. Today, fewer than 2,000. And as the governor of the state just tweeted, it turns out the vaccines work. The science works. Nick watt, cnn, los angeles. The u. S. Is expected to authorize the Pfizer Biontech vaccine for use in children ages 12 to 15 next week. Renewed surveys from the Kaiser Family Foundation Shows many parents in the country arent ready to have their kids get it. 19 of the parents, of those under 18, say they definitely wont get their children vaccinated. And nearly a third say theyd rather wait to see how the vaccine is working before giving their child a dose. The Brown University school of Public Health dr. Jha says he is not surprised bit hesitancy. We are seeing the new vaccines, a lot of parents are saying, we will see how this goes, and i think its going to go really well, because the data is really good. And im hoping most of those parents jump off the fence and get their kids vaccinated and then we may have a third who are on the, only if you make me or no way, and maybe some schools will push some of those people over, so i would be optimistic here. I know its a big hill to climb. We got to get all of these people on board. But i do think were going to get there if we just keep plugging away at it. For the second day in a row, Indias Health ministry has reported more than 400,000 new cases. So far, india has reported more than 21 million cases of covid19 since the pandemic began. But that figure is double what it was two months ago and may in reality be far higher. The virus is now spreading into smaller cities, towns and villages, local hospitals have been so overwhelmed, that patients are being treated outdoors. And as more people die, griefstricken families are lshing out in anger at medical workers. Cnns sam kiley has that report. Reporter frenzied. Knocking on the door to an intensive care unit. The Covid Patients. Theres confusion among relatives and police. When they push inside, what they find is horrific. The icu has been abandoned. Except for its patients. And theyre all six dead, before the doctors left. A voice says everyone ran away. There are no medicals here. Theres no one here. No doctor. No guard. How can doctors run away leaving patients . The crimes been committed here. How can you leave them, he yells at a Police Officer . Theres been no crime. There has been a tragedy. Medical staff were ordered out of the icu and to hide when the oxygen ran out. Its little hope for those like this, that really form the backbone of the Public Health infrastructures right across india. Theyre very much on the forefront of the covid pandemic, dealing with the patients but also dealing with the emotional fallout. Its that fallout that caused them to briefly flee. Heres why. Four days earlier, bereaved rel tives of another deceased covid patient attacked staff. Forcing calls to the police from doctors. When the oxygen ran out in the icu, a couple of days later, another attack on the doctors began. Then i asked, will you please hide. And i manage the situation. Because i do not want to get covid cases soared past 20 million with the official death toll climbing to 4,000 a day. Many people have died through lack of oxygen. There is growing anger at state and National Governments but its often medics who bear the brunt. Please help us. Understand us. Love us. Respect us. Because everyone can be on the icu bed. If were not here, who will take care of you, the patient. Her staff back at work, the icu, again filled with patient. There is ample oxygen here, at least for now. But scientists are warning of a third indian pandemic wave before the second is even peaked. Anger and fear will continue to grow. Sam kiley, cnn. The tolling is what can be seen here and struggles to cope with the growing number of deaths. These images from the india holiest city, cremations start before dawn with the fires burning through the day. Workers tell cnn theyve never seen anything like it. Republicans seem all but certain to quickly replace one of their most powerful leaders because she dared to denounce president trumps big lie about winning the u. S. President ial election. The republican congresswoman stefanik is campaigning to take liz cheneys spot. She insist these can unite the divided party but some members arent so sure. Cnns ryan nobles explains. Reporter House Republicans making it clear. Yeah, i think that for sure, the votes are there and i think it will happen most likely next wednesday. Reporter liz cheney is out. And new york congresswoman stefanik has the votes to replace her as the conference chair. Stefanik endorsed by former President Donald Trump, House Minority leader Kevin Mccarthy and gop while steve scalise. The reason she is forced out. Refusing to stay quiet about the 2020 election results. When you talk to any voter across this country, certainly at any republican event, they are focused on Election Security and election beg rit. On thursday stefanik trying to shore up her credentials with wary conservatives who worry about her moderate past, given the first interview with steve bannon and falling in live with fox news talking points. I fully support the audit in arizona. We want transparency and answers for the american people. Stefanik saying she supports an ongoing audit of joe bidens 2020 win in arizona which republican Election Officials in the state have panned. Stefanik doubling down on trumps lies that he won despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. From gop Election Officials, in many of the states where trump and his supporters are complaining about the results. But her ascendancy to gop leadership is not without complications. The conservative Advocacy Group club for growth called her a liberal. And warned, quote, House Republicans should find a conservative to lead messaging and win back the house majority. The House Freedom caucus, which is no fan of cheneys, held a Conference Call wednesday night, where many members expressed concern about stefaniks past support for republicans like former Speaker Paul Ryan and expressed hope they could meet with her to make sure she is conservative enough. Meanwhile, very few republicans are rushing to support cheney. This after she wrote a scathing oped in the Washington Post again hammering trump over his election lies, and insisting this is a fight for the survival of democracy itself. On the ground in her home state, wyoming republicans are already gearing up for the 2022 election. Carly fiorina arguing cheneys ouster will have longterm repercussions. Liz cheney is correct, this is terrible for the party in the medium and long run and terrible for the country in the short run. Although it appears inevitable that stefanik will replace cheney as the house conference chair for the Republican Party, there is still a lot of angst among conservatives about her moving into this role so quickly. Im told on that Conference Call with members of the House Freedom caucus, there were a number of members that expressed reservations about her taking this job, concerned that they could put themselves in the same situation that they are right now with cheney. That this messenger for the Republican Party doesnt necessarily align with all of its members. Those same people, though, that were on that call also recognized the fact that stefanik has the votes and will likely take over for cheney in the very near future. Ryan nobles, cnn, on capitol hill. Kesha lance bottoms says she wont run for reelection and says the decision wasnt based on winning again or raising money effectively, she was a rising party in the Democratic Party and was considered joe bidens Vice President. She confronted georgias republican governor over voting rights. Were getting the first results from thursdays elections in the u. K. And its a big win for Boris Johnsons conservative party. The Opposition Labour Party has conceded defeat in the hartletool election, and keep in mind this is an english constituency that has voted labor for almost 50 years, a hugely encouraging sign for the Prime Minister and his party who have been under pressure, over their handling of the pandemic. Cnn has more from london. A blow for labor for sure but does this one result tell a bigger story . Reporter yes, its a bellwether result, its one of those constituents that everyone had their eye on, and its crucial for a couple of reasons, first of all, as you say, this is the labor heartland traditionally. Ever since the seat had been created back in 1974, its been won by the labour party. And now the conservative party didnt just win it, kim, they won it a 16 swing. Thats a phenomenal achievement politically, for any party thats not been in power for 11 years. Its unheard of at that stage in an electoral cycle. Usually the incumbents take the hit. So its a shattering defeat for labor. Thats what the shadow cabinet had referred to it as. And a very big warning for Boris Johnson, it is an indicator how the elections are taking place across the United Kingdom and shake out for the conservative party. Not only has the party been in power for a long time, but Boris Johnsons been embroiled in many scandals recently. Related to his former aide dominic coupling, related to the fact that he used all of the money potentially to refurbish the downing street flat. His handling of the pandemic, where 128,000 people have died in britain. From coronavirus. So its interesting to see that the electorate certainly havent resonated with the labour partys challenges on socalled, the conservative party pleas. Theres obviously concern about the way the pandemic has been handled but potentially because of the vaccine rollout in britain has been successful, over 30 million dose, 35 million doses administered, and that might be something which is buoying Boris Johnson through this period. At the end of the day, Boris Johnson has shown one thing consistently throughout his political career, he is capable of winning and continuing to deliver Political Parties and thats what his party and his supporters will be pleased to see this morning. Thank you so much, Bianca Nobilo in london. Appreciate it. Here in the u. S. , lawmakers are trying to learn more security lessons from the violent insurrection at the u. S. Capitol. A mob of stump supporters stormed congress on january 6th trying to prevent the final count of Electoral College votes. The big question for lawmakers is what could have been done to prevent. That as brian todd report, the chief of the agency in charge of protecting the president offered this testimony thursday. The director of the secret service, in his first public remarks since the january 6th attack, telling congress, if his agency had been put in charge of security planning, ahead of the electoral vote count, the capitol could have been better protected. You would have seen more people, you would have seen more perimeter fencing, you would have seen more resources. But james murray said that would have involved designating january 6th as a socalled National Special security event. Beforehand. Something like a state of the union address. Which would have allowed more time to coordinate protection for the capitol between local, state and federal security agencies. Former Capitol Police chief terrence gainer says with or without the intelligence failures leading up to that day. There was not an indication la it needed to be a National Security event. We hadnt progressed that far to think the counting of the votes required it to be a National Security event. Reporter the secret service did play a pivotal role that day, whisking then Vice President mike pence to safety, as rioters came within 100 feet of pens. Secret Service Director murray also admitted some of the civil disturbances over the past year have brought to light some critical needs in his agency. We found that we did not have enough of our folks trained in civil disturbance. Would he did not have enough equipment in that regard. Reporter the secret Service Directors testimony comes as dc metropolitan Police Officer michael brutally attacked by rioters january 6th lashes out at congress. In an open letter to elected official, the note says he struggled with psychological trauma, emotional anxiety and quote with the anxiety of hearing those who continue to downplay the events of that day, and those who would ignore them all together with their lack of acknowledgment, the indifference shown to my colleagues and i is disgraceful. He didnt say in the letter who he was referring to. But had earlier complained to cnns don lemon about these remarks from former President Donald Trump about the rioters. Some of them went in and theyre hugging and kissing the police and the guards, you know, they had great relationships. I think its dangerous. Its very much not the experience that i had on the 6th. You know, i experienced a group of individuals that were trying to kill me. Reporter in the meantime, a man from tennessee, one of several being charged with assaulting the officer has dropped his effort to be released from jail and will stay behind bars pending his trial. That man albuquerque head allegedly grabbed the officer by the neck and pulled him into the mob where he was mercilessly beaten. He has pleaded not guilty to ten different charges. S. , covid cases, hospitalizations and deaths have fallen sharply in recent week, but obviously the pandemic is far from over. Doctors and other Health Care Professionals have been working nonstop for well over a year, and frankly, theyre tired. And as Elizabeth Cohen explains, many wonder how much longer they can go on. After months on the front line of the pandemic, dr. Sharon griswold says shes tired. Its hard to continue to do this, when theres really, it feels like theres no end in sight. Dr. Gris world works in an emergency room in pennsylvania. At times, it all feels like too much. I have had plenty of days where i do feel like leaving, where i feel like nothing that i do is going to make a difference. The covid19 pandemic has taken its toll on Health Care Workers. Worldwide, more than one in five have experienced anxiety, depression, or post Traumatic Stress disorder during the pandemic, according to a study in march. Also in march, a survey by the Kaiser Family foundation and the Washington Post found that nearly one in three Health Care Workers say they considered leaving health care as a result of the pandemic. Dr. Messler is one of them. In april last year, he quit his position as an anesthesiologist. He had the risky job of putting breathing tubes in patients who might have had covid19. And his own Health Problems made him more vulnerable to the virus. You could have been infected. Yes. I was scared. I literally went to work terrified every day. What was your motivation for handing in that Resignation Letter . My primary motivation was i didnt want to get really sick and die. And i didnt want to leave my family, my two young kids, without a dad. For some, the emotional toll of seeing a doctor during the pandemic has been deadly. Dr. Lorna green was an e. R. Doctor who recovered from Covid Patients and traveling from virginia to new york city to help during the height of the outbreak there. She died a year ago, by suicide. Hanging in there . Dr. Adam jarrett, chief medical officer at Holy Name Medical Center in new jersey. He counsels doctors who are thinking about leaving. Many doctors, in fact, the majority, i think have decided that theyre going to tough it out and their egoing to try to make it work. Dr. Griswold says she wont be leaving her post any time soon. She draws inspiration from a fish in the movie finding niemo. You hold a fish on your uniform, dory. Dorys phrase is just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Its all about being there, keep going through this pandemic. Elizabeth cohen, cnn reporting. Some nations are resisting calls to lift patent protections for covid19 vaccines but there are two big exceptions. French president emanuel macron says he is fully in favor of waiving the intellectual Property Rights and follows a similar announce by wednesday by the u. S. , and the idea is to have other countries make generic versions of the vaccine to work on the global shortage but a final ruling by the World Trade Organization is months away and it would have to be unanimous consent by the wto members. Scott mclane joins us live from london and there seems to be a lot of momentum behind patent waivers but some are trying to pump the brakes here. So bring us up to speed. Thats right, kim, certainly President Joe Biden set off a pretty Big International discussion when he announced that the u. S. Was open to temporarily waiving the patent rights for vaccines in order to boost the global supply, but as you mentioned, this is not a done deal by any stretch of the imagination, this still requires some consensus from countries from the wto, and as you said, that could take quite a while. The reaction in europe is pretty mixed. As you said the french president emanuel macron fully in favor. On the other side of the coin, germany is saying, look, these patent protections, these intellectual Property Rights, they are a source of innovation, and ought to be protected, and germany also saying, look, the patent rights are not the problem right now. Quality production capacity, that is the much bigger issue. The Eu Commission president ursula vander line, her comments were more difficult to decipher and ready to discuss the u. S. Proposal and how it could help address the covid crisis but didnt make a commitment in either direction. The argument for doing this, obviously srgs many of these vaccines were developed using public taxpayer dollars and ought to be as widely available around the globe as possible. The argument against is exactly the argument that the biontech founder made to cnn just yesterday, she says that by waiving these patent rights it would actually only increase the amount of chaos in the production, because developing a vaccine, she said is, a very precise biological process. Its not something that you can easily replicate in any lab. Kim . Interesting. Well keep track of this debate through the coming days and weeks. Thank you so much, scott mclean in london. And three months to go to the Tokyo Olympics and growing fears that japans Health Care System is nearing its breaking point. Many hospitals are filling up with covid cases and the government is now deciding whether to extend a state of emergency in the capital city in other areas. We have more from tokyo. Blake, serious cases are climbing, and of kocourse the clock is ticking. Reporter nationwide, the case count here in japan has been going down. That of course is good news. The bad news, the number of patients as you mentioned with severe symptoms are climbing. In fact, a new record has been set nearly every day this week. Its a situation that is pushing japans medical situation to the breaking point, forcing several preefzs including tokyo to request a monthlong extension to the current state of emergency order. Infectious disease specialist, making his rounds. For now, its relatively calm here in the covid war at sitama medical university but all that can thank in an instant. Two people admitted today and another two patients admitted tomorrow and all cases turn out to be severe and the day after tomorrow, we will already be in crisis. Reporter a crisis that has the potential to explode in just a few months, when tens of thousands of people from more than 200 countries enter japan to participate in the upcoming summer Olympic Games. Its a frightening scenario for the chief nurse ioka, treating Covid Patients since the beginning. Im sorry for the athletes but im terrified that the olympics are going to happen. Is it really worth it . We are in the middle of the fourth wave. And what is the point of having the Olympic Games now . Despite overwhelming concern from medical professionals and the japanese public, olympic organizers remain determined to hold the already once delayed games this summer. Pointing to covid19 countermeasures outlined in a series of play books. Just a few months ago, a third wave of infections pushed the medical system in some spots to the breaking points. Reporter japans medical system as a whole is strained, the u. K. Variant has brought the system in western japan to its knees. Its really like a Natural Disaster in our hospitals. But its a disaster that people on the outside cant see. Reporter unlike previous variants, this doctor, an Infectious Disease specialist at the general Medical Center here, says the current virus variant is spreading faster and seriously impacting younger people, with nearly 1800 people waiting to be hospitalized. Amid this fourth wave, hospitals are finding they cant admit patients or even treat them. Some of whom are dying at home. We are confronting a situation where we want to take more patients, but we just cant. Reporter the same situation is unfolding in neighboring osaka. According to the government web site, the hospital bed occupancy rate is maxed out at 103 , and nearly 3,000 people are waiting to enter a treatment facility. The result . Doctors like this one are repeatedly left to make a heart wrenching choice. We are forced to make decisions on which lives to choose to save by providing respirator or not. Reporter with hospitals already struggling to cope with the shear volume of sick patients, lacking enough beds and adequate staff, experts feel the olympics could take the entire japanese medical system past its breaking point. I think if we did allocate help for the olympics, then our medical system will collapse. Were living through a disaster at the moment. So we firstly have to find ways of overcoming this. Itso fficult to be thinking about the olympics, while were living through this disaster. A disaster, dr. Matsuo says, with no end in sight. The emergency order for several prefectures include can tokyo, osaka for one month, given the Current Situation here in japan, regarding the u. K. Variant, and the fears of it spreading across the country. Now, regarding the olympics, the International Olympic committee is not mandating vaccinations but does encourage. It the ioc says it expects a significant portion of participants to be vaccinated. Some countries like south korea and australia have already planned to vaccinate their delegations, and as for japan, the vaccine rollout is under way, and moving incredibly slow, less than 1 of the population has received both doses of the vaccination, the vaccine at this point. Well, youre looking at the man stabbed, the man accused of stabbing two asianamerican women at a San Francisco bus stop have been charged. The Attorneys Office says the charges include attempted murder and carry a potential life sentence. One of the horrifying assaults targeting asianamericans in the past few months. Cnn looks at the new study tracking these crimes and what can be done. A 36yearold asianamerican father, beaten by a stranger last friday, as he was standing near an intersection in San Francisco, with his 1yearold baby in a stroller. According to San Francisco police. I couldnt protect my child and i was on the floor, and he was in a stroller that was slowly actually rolling away, so it was definitely very scary as a parent. And i was just trying to shield my head and trying to prevent any worse injuries. Reporter when asked if he thought he was targeted because of his race, bruce said it crossed his mind. San Francisco Police say the attack appeared to be random and 26yearold sidney ham monday had been charged with assault and child endangerment among others. Also on the streets of San Francisco, two elderly women, a 63yearold, and an 84yearold, who were waiting for the bus, both stabbed on tuesday. It was a pretty big knife. And the blade, it had this, like a military knife. Im very sure that she got sliced. Reporter San Francisco police say they have not ruled the incident out as a hate crime. 54yearold Patrick Thompson has been charged with attempted murder and elder abuse. In new york, two asianamerican women also targeted. This time with a hammer. In this video, you see the suspect approaching the women from behind. Authorities say the individual demands they take off their masks and then swings at them with a hammer. The victims fight back. The Nypd Hate Crime Task force is investigating, and asking the public to help track down the suspect. These are just the latest in a wave of attacks against asianamericans since the pandemic began in 2020. According to stop aapi hate, a National Coalition that tracks antiasian hat hate, there are incidents reported from march of 2020 to march of this year with many happening in Public Places and businesses. New york city has seen the largest spike in antiasian hate crime. A 223 increase in the First Quarter of 2021, compared to the same period last year. According to the California State University center for the study of hate and extremism. Were talking too much about, okay, we need hate crimes laws. That helps after the fact. In april, the u. S. Senate overwhelmingly passed an antiasian hate crimes bill that aims to create awareness and exp exp expedite reviews of hate crimes targeting asianamericans. More needs to be done to prevent these kinds of attacks rather than only responding to them. We arent really pushing for things Like Community safety programs, bystander intervention. Chaperone or escort services. Neighborhood watches. Things that really make us safe in our own neighborhoods. And in realtime. You just heard there from Connie Chung Jo with advancing aishamerican justice, and started about intervention and her nonprofit is working on ending all forms of harassment and training individuals and communities and dozens of companies how to intervene if they see anyone verbally harassed before it escalates into physical violence and key alies in the communities is a key component experts say in helping to prevent asianamerican attacks. The founder of the virtual telescope project says he took the photo with his robotic telescope, the 20ton piece of whats now space junk crossed over italy. Experts say it will reenter the earths atmosphere over the weekend. Now, this is video of last weeks launch, right now, the rockets empty core stage is barrelling around the planet, about 18,000 miles an hour. U. S. Officials say they arent planning to shoot down. The good news, experts say the rocket poses very little threat to our safety. And in fact, in the past few moments, china says the probability of it causing harm to aviation activities and the ground is extremely low. All right, lets bring in meteorologist derek van dam, the probability low, but not zero, so do you have any more clarity on where and when this thing is going to hit . We have been able to, experts i should say have been able to identify a path across the planet where this could potentially land. Youre looking at la is known as the orbital path of this rocket and it puts new york, sao paulo, madrid, sidney, in the path but you got to keep in mind, this is traveling at 18,000 miles per hour, roughly 30,000 kilometers per hour, so its orbiting the earth 15 times a day, so any small deviation in that angle of approach towards reentry is going to lead to a very significant change in the final location, where it makes landfall, i should say. So the estimate for exactly when and exactly where will only happen a few minutes, if not an hour, right prior to that moment. So very important to note that. The facts though, if it is lucky enough to actually miss, i should say, or dodge 70 of our ocean, we only have 10 of the remaining land thats occupied by humans, like you and i, watching at home, and nonetheless, we are still watching for the potential reentry to take place throughout this weekend, ending about midday on sunday. Its quite amazing to see this photo, ill bring it up on the screen once again. The first image of this longmark rocket as it hurdles through space. It certainly has the acknowledgment of the community, we are talking about it on cnn to say the least, this puts it at the largest uncontrolled rocket falling to earth since 1991 and we did the math here, 20 tons, that is equivalent to about 15 sedan vehicles, so that really puts it into perspective. Space junk or space debris, it is floating around the atmosphere at low orbit and its got a bit of a personal connection, as meteorologists here, if any of that space debris was to knock out one of our active satellites, it could take down weather observations and environmental observations. Not something i want to see. Thank you very much, derek van dam. Appreciate it. And heres to a happy hour thats out of this world.
