Responding to the latest volley of accusations against him minutes before he took the stage a bombshell from the Washington Post, allegations from now this new accuser, a woman claiming that donald trump sexually assaulted her. Specifically she was a former model. She told the story to the Washington Post that trump at a club in the early 90s reached up her skirt and grabbed her genitals. An eerily similar situation that was caught on the hot mike with billy bush bragging about Sexual Assaults and hes a celebrity. With regard to the story in the Washington Post today, let me be clear, cnn has not been able to independently confirm her claims. This is what she told the Washington Post just a heads up. The details in her story are graphic. And im talking to my friend who im sitting across from on my left side. Im very clear on this. This is the vivid part for me. So the person on my right who unbeknownst to me at that time was donald trump put their hand up my skirt he did touch my vagina through my underwear. I pushed the hand away and i got up and i turned around and i see these eyebrows, very distinct eyebrows of donald trump and i got up and i moved and i continued to talk with my friends and they said oh, thats donald trump. I was like, ew, hes gross, he just put his hand up my skirt. Thats not okay. And we also sort of brushed it off and moved on. I was very young and sort of the whole thing was very inconsequential seemingly and i broughted it off. But thats kind of a gateway. If youre letting somebody stick their hand up your skirt that, one, has not even introduce themselves and you werent speaking with them, theyre groping you on the side, on the fly like youre some sort of i dont know, stuffed animal on the couch. That is not okay and it opens the door for much worse behavior on their part and for the girl allowing worse things to happen to them because they feel that its inconsequential. And its meaningless because, oh, well you werent hurt so youre fine. Its nothing. But its not nothing and it sends an awful message to women that they are nothing. If youre touched inappropriately you should tell somebody and speak up about it and go to the authorizes. Trumps Campaign Quick to respond to this accuser. Let me read their response in its entirety. This is a total fabrication. It did not happen. It is illogical and nonsensical to think donald trump was alone at a nightclub in manhattan and that the recognition of mr. She described the allegation as being inconsequential at the time but why thin wasnt it consequential when mr. Whats important are Economic Issues and that hes not Hillary Clinton. Having said that, david has said this until hes blue in the face. At this point forget about shrinking core, this is about expanding the core to try to get elected and its not helpful that he has to use his stump speeches to continue to hold on to his base. When youre talking about women coming forward with allegations of Sexual Assault is the proper response from the man who would like to be president of the United States to be look at her or, as he just said, believe me, she would not be my first choice, that i can tell you. He says because i learned if you get punched you have to punch back. He said his Campaign Advisors dont want him talking about this. Revealing. But theres a reason his Campaign Advisors are not saying talk about this because to most americans this is not what they want to hear about from their president ial candidates right now obviously when being attacked you want to defend yourself but you have surrogates. Why is he not setting the sights higher to push forth on the message that has been working for him throughout this campaign. He cant help himself. Exactly. Well, one of the interesting things is that his reaction to all of these accusations sew why most of these women have nothing to gain by coming forward. They are being attacked by a president ial nominee on a podium and this is the environment in which they are coming into this conversation so very few of these women are saying hey, i want to do this for my 15 minutes of fame and i think thats evident to the American People if theyre looking at this argument unfolding before their eyes and in karens great story today, she talked to this woman about her political leanings and Kristin Anderson said i dont even know if i want to vote in this election. She is not enamored with either choice. So people are going to take this for what it is and take Donald Trumps words for what it is and make a decision. I am surprised to see, if donald trump wants to make an argument about his understanding of what Sexual Assault or harassment is, why not make that case to the American People . Why not say what he believes about this . Instead, hes going on the attack, counterpunching and that i think is going to be what he has to hold up against the stories of these women and the American People will make a decision at the end of the day. Im not hearing anything about anyone trying to file a suit. But even erin burnett says she has a friends that says she was groped by donald trump back in the day. Whats the legal fallout. When were talking about defamation, theres potential on both sides donald trump has threatened the New York Times for defamation. If hes calling them liars as we saw with bill cosby that can give rise to a defamation lawsuit also. In this case, while the accusers are what we call limited public figures, trump is the classic public figure and he would v a heightened standard, the New York Times v. Sullivan standard, coincidentally enough, to show the statement was malice. But thats not enough. Moments ago, Attorney Gloria Allred held a News Conference with a form eer apprentice contestant. Here is how she described her encounters with mr. Trump. I met mr. Trump when i was a candidate on the apprentice in season 5. I had the utmost admiration and even after i was fired i saw him as a potential employer. . 2007 i was going to be in new york for a social obligation. I contacted mr. He had his suit on. I stood up and he came to me and started kissing me opened mouthed as he was pulling me towards him. I walked away and i sat down in a chair. He was on a love seat across from me and i made an attempt at conversation. He asked me to sit next to him, i complied. He then grabbed my shoulder and began kissing me again very aggressively and placed his hand on my interest. I pulled back and walked to another part of the room. She said she has two corroborating witnesses that her client talked to and then when asked if she had emails or phone records anything else she believed show would corroborate the story she said yes but stressed we are not attempting to sue or bring charges against donald trump in any way.
