Its hard for me to see how you implement this in a practical way. First of all, as you rightly said, who is going to give an honest answer to that question if they are a terrorist. Second of all, what do we do about the afghan interpreters who were essential to the war effort who might say yes to that. They are not a threat to our country, they assisted our war effort. Its trumps contradictory the pieces dont add up to a policy that is going to advance our interest. For example, how do you im sorry, go ahead. earnings. And, why is he receiving money from a government that is hostile to the United States. There are two elements here. The potential illegality of it and reinforcing a narrative that russia is somehow not a bad actor on the global stage and hostile to american interests. There is a normalization of russia acting as though, by donald trump in his comments and manafort that russia is a benign actor in affairs and nothing to worry about. Wouldnt it be great if we could find Common Ground with russia. Thats whats most troubling about this. What happens if something is wrong here . Whether it just smells bad that something is wrong or whether something is proven illegal. A lot of words thrown around like i dont know and if. They are all guesses. Paul manafort gave his answers. Im not here to talk about him. Friendly. He was very open about russia. All that may be fair. Let me ask, because i want to talk about paul manafort. He is central to it. Without him, it would be a different campaign. What would happen without a paul manafort. Im not going to speculate. Im here about the strength of his campaign. You know the New York Times is not friendly to the Trump Campaign. That article had no justification or facts, just a bunch of guess zs as we are doing here. Its a pattern.
