According to the New York Times, president obama plans to increase access to telephone data and he will have piracy safeguards and propose a creation of a public advocate with privacy concerns at a secret intelligence court. And it would certainly strongly reject any proposed changes at all to their review process, arguing that it will hamper the work of federal courts. Including collecting and storing metadata, nor will he require Court Permission for socalled National Security letters that the federal agency used to obtain financial information. It slowly trickled out since last june and in some cases they have gushed out. Today the times reported that the nsa has been using radio waves to gain access to computers even when they are not connected to the internet. The previously secret technology involves planning surveillance on computers and transmitting data on the covert radio channel. And so a Bipartisan Group of lawmakers is now urging president obama to be more transparent about how much he spends on surveillance activities. They have introduced a bill that would require the president to reveal details about the socalled black budget. Including intelligence activities across 16 different agencies. And these congressmen, peter welch, cynthia loomis, introducing the bill. It even has the backing of some conservatives, including jim jordan and jim sensenbrenner, the author of the patriot act. The government last year spent about 53 billion on clandestine activities without publicly accounting for the money and as best as we can understand it, because they are part of this, we have it all covered for you tonight and we will be joined by her panel of radio superstars tonight will weigh in on these folks who want to reveal the black budget for Intelligence Agency work. We get a call from the fbi at the end of december say that they want to interview three of our clients after the first of the year. So we wait for the response call and we get it in january, early january, and the question is will you sit down and meet with us. Youre getting ready for the response to that, the information about Barbara Boxer and comes out and we found out that shes a major donor to the Obama Campaign and to the dmz, which she has the right to be. And that she has a professional obligation as you pointed out earlier to step aside. But it does not have this investigation. Lou i think that we need to point out that the Justice Department responded one that obvious conduct was raised but they have no responsibility to take into account the donations. And as we just reported that is absolutely untrue. There is a model rule of professional responsibilities. And the department of justice has the same rules and regulations you have to avoid the appearance of impropriety. But heres the irony of ironies. So as we respond back to the fbi saying that we have an appointment heading up this investigation and we are evaluating the response, we get announcements and we start seeing that we dont get a phone call or anything. And so then the fbi announced it and they have never interviewed a victim of the acknowledged targeting. Not one interview with one of our clients. And they decided it was not a criminal case without talking to the purported victims of the crime and that is the irony of all of this. And it just shows that this investigation was nothing but a sham investigation by the department of justice or the white houses request to act like they are doing something and they have really done nothing and that is why we are in federal court against the irs now. Lou and the information youre referring to, the disclosure that there wouldnt be a criminal prosecution. And it reported that we can put this up with precisely what the journal reported. Investigators did not find the kind of political bias or enemy hunting that would amount to a violation of criminal law and what emerged instead was evidence of a mismanaged bureaucracy enforcing rules. And this means that the Oversight Committee can have everything that it is asked for because the investigation is over by the fbi. And so the fbi is right now in the position of destroying its credibility with the American People. It is one thing for the Justice Department and to be politicized, which is repugnant as one can imagine. But to have the fbi as a chief Law Enforcement officer and now a National Security has been attached to the fbi. The new director to permit this kind of nonsense. I would call it out bridges and tragic for this agency to behave in this manner. There is something that we have to get and i dont even want to blame the new fbi. Lou i have to be honest with you. But the fact of the matter is you are not. Heres what im going to say. Lois leonard took the fifth amendment to the United States constitution to not permit herself. Pleading the fifth and the fbi does not investigate or talk to a witness or victim of this crime. And it was eric holder brought up the criminality. He can understand that. He said it may well be criminal. And the end result is no victim of the activity is interviewed in the fbi determined there is not a crime. Lou why would you not hold a director responsible for the conduct being made by his agency . Lou i was hoping you wouldnt say that. But go ahead. Lou i will tell you i i think you cant hold him responsible. Ultimately it is really eric holder that is responsible. And the fbi is simply the agent. Im not blaming the individual agents but its the department of justice. We have to remember the hierarchy here and if the doj that made the determination and the agency should investigate as instructed. Lou at some point there has to be some integrity. That means people willing to stand up and say that this is treading the credibility of the fbi. It is the agency is so politicized. I mean, that it is losing the this line throughout the Justice Department and i dont see how anyone can not be outraged by this. It really should have been public corruption because that is what was at the end of the day. It certainly is. Government overuse of authority. Lou you and i are absolute agreement there.
