We think we know enough now there will be has been enough alleged publicly to bring the director back and ask him to testify. He should come back to the congress and share what he knows in terms of the president s conversations with him on any of the russia investigation. I think we ought to ask for the notes that were taken contemporaneously or shortly after those meetings and if there are any tapes as the president alleged, those should be obtained by the conscious. If necessary we should seen a them, but hopefully we can obtained the materials voluntarily. On the heels of an allegation that the president himself acknowledges that he brought up in the context of the director that he was the subject of the investigation in the context of reports by associates of the director, that he was asked essentially for a loyalty test to the president and now why allegations that the president urged him to essentially drop the investigation of michael flynn, enough is enough. Congress needs to get to the bottom of this. We did have an opportunity to inquiry further about the reports of the discussion within the white house with the Russian Foreign minister and Russian Ambassador. I dont have much i can share in terms of our discussions on that i remain concerned about allegations that the president shared information with the russians that was not vetted in advance by the intelligence agencies. Its one thing to do this as a profit interagency thoughts about information that needs to be shared. Its another thing to do it responsible stain yulsly in a way that might endanger sources of information. The white house has denied the thrust of that memo there they said while the president has repeatedly expressed his view that general flynn is a decent man who served and represented our country, the president has never asked in comey or anyone else to end any investigation including any investigation involving general flynn. Hes probably right there wont be a tremendous breach into the relationship. But we cant take it at face value. David you are not allowed to leak classified information. Thats what the leakers themselves say, it was classified information the president was leaking. In the Washington Post story, the most alarmist with quotes came from former officials which is probably Obama Administration officials. It appears the president made a mistake. Severity of the mistake is still in question. We dont know how serious it was and what damage it would cause if any. I was rarely allowed to use Anonymous Sources. If i did i had to back it up with enough information to prove it was a valid source. The rosenstein story had dramatic appearance all over the airways was based on one anonymous source that turned out to be wrong. One source anonymous with a potential grudge is unacceptable. But i dont think the flynn story in the New York Times and the comey memo about the firing. And i dont think the story about the meeting with the Russian Ambassador is based on one source. David they are clearly based on Anonymous Sources who want to and mine this administration, the Trump Administration, are they not . They cutly are. Even they absolutely are. Even adam schiff is a democrat, a Ranking Member on the House Intelligence Committee. He has an interest in limiting the power and success of is administration. On the New York Times story, the issue was why wasnt Andrew Mccabe shown the memo other quoteunquote associates of mr. Comey saw. If it was that big an issue, why wasnt mccabe given it so he wouldnt snoip front of congress and say there has never been interference in the investigation. So that strikes me as curious.
