This as department of Homeland Security that the children of illegals, the dreamers, theyre not included in the administrations new immigration directives. And that they will not be mass deportation. What do you think the media treatment of donald trump comparing that to Richard Nixon . Well, its extremely hostile. I wasnt around to know the daily coverage of the Nixon White House but, you know, this is extremely negative, especially when you consider if a president in his first four or five weeks in office, you know . There is nothing he has done that has earned positive reviews from the socalled mainstream media. They havent done any of the positive stories about the wife, the kids, you know, just the little Human Interest that normally greets the president. This is a press core that sees itself as part of the establishment. Donald trump is antiestablishment, and i think the media are trying to reject him as a legitimate president , even though he is, and hes sitting in the white house using to build himself up with his own base. Liz yeah, richard, and then we have president george w. Bush explaining today why he thinks the media is so different now than when he was in office. Lets take a listen to what george w. Bush said. Although President Trump has said he hopes to unify the country, have you in the first month seen him do or say anything that in your opinion would be an attempt to heal the wounds of the election . Well, first of all, theres only been one month in office. So its hes got four years. Secondly, i think you have to take the man for his word that he wants to unify the country, and well see whether he does so. Its hard to unify the country with the news media being so split up. When i was president , you mattered a lot more because there was, like, three of you. And now theres all kinds of information being bomb warde bombarded out and people can say things anonymously. Liz what did you make of that, rich, wh george w. Bush just said . Yeah. I think hes basically saying, look, if the mainstream media, liberal media mattered, donald trump wouldnt be president. They matter a lot less because theres other sources of information that compete with it. You know, the media didnt like donald trump in 2016 either, and he still won the presidency in spite of him. Liz a wall street poll found that 51 of the respondents felt that the media was not being fair to President Trump, and they felt like threequarters. Threequarters of those polls felt like his policies were good for the country. What do you think of that . Yeah. No, they were 51 said that the media were too critical of trump. 6 not critical enough. Thats an 8 to one disparity. The public sees this too. This is beyond trumps own base. The didnt have the same numbers. More support trump in the first place. I think the media coming outlooking more and more bias as the presidency goes on.
