Us we begin tonight right here in New York City. Where we see cops being shot on a daily basis, crime is rising, the subways are no longer safe. Assault or a common place, on your screen, youre looking at just a few of the recent examples of this violence. The scenes are difficult to watch. And far too often involve Innocent Bystanders and with that, i wanted to know what the people of New York City are feeling today i went out on the street just to find out. Watch. Do you feel safe in the city . Yeah. Absolutely. I think it is a day like today great to be Walking Around and be around peel outside. I dont feel unsafe Walking Around. Absolutely i think why i trust police force a lot and i think theres city back and rejuvenated i feel safe. Did you feel safe . The city . Yes. I do. Well ive not had any experience with crime. I think New York City is fairly safe and i just cant walk around being afraid. Always lights on. Theres police all over. Yes. I love new york. As a young woman, i definitely always am looking around at my surroundings but i think it is a thought oh it is 11 00 maybe i should take a certain way home. Incidence are safe. But i feel safe. Not around in the middle of the night maybe i might not feel as safe. But i do feel safe. I feel safe walking the street. Talking here, i think safe yeah. Currently yeah wipe my friends people who make me feel safe so as long as im not alone i feel safe. In New York City i do feel very safe. But i might not have the right perspective because i wasnt here when it was really bad in new york. When it was really bad. Wait just a minute just so we are clear and inspite of the cold hard facts on your screen look at the numbers overall cream transit crime shootings incidents, they feel like it is okay. I learn today that all of this has been accepted. Some of as if being normalized. I left that part beyond sun frankly i didnt expect those responses. But i wasnt only one. The former cops who were there to give me protection that day were left speechless. One even said this is why he retired. Especially when he heard this. Like i said man [bleep] happens people try cops are sometimes deserve it. But i understand theyre trying to protect as best they can but to an extent all cops are after like [bleep] it happens. Thats all i really got to say. I think it is important to Defund Police and invest in communities and thats whats happening and i dont feel im safe Walking Around five officers that have been shot in the last month two of them were tragically killed. What is driving that . Yonch whats driving it but it is terrible they lost their lives but i dont think two are necessarily related. Whatever is going on they want to defund the police and just so were clear all of those conversations that we were having that was everyone. That was everyone i couldnt find anyone who said crime was was high right now. The Vice President of the San Francisco Police Officerrings association lieutenant tracy mccray joins me with garden angel founder curtis before we get to this conversation, theres some breaking news tonight as we just learned that another Police Officer has been shot tonight in New York City. Short time ago an offduty koches shot in the foot, fortunately enough curtis hes in stable condition at this hour. Hes the 7th nypd officer shot already this year. Curtis ill start with you. What is your reaction to what were hearing on the street from new yorkers . Lawrence, ive got to attack you on the Curtis Underbelly Tosh of New York City. Because those those folks you were talking to they must have been taking some serious Exis Itecstasy and molld Drug Induced Psychosis made crazy are you kidding in the first month of the new mayor eric adams has been more crime in the first month than in the eight years of conrad Bill De Blasio who was hopelessly in a procriminal and anticop. Thats where they defund the mrs. And noble law came about. But understand, theyre accepting this. They hate the police. They are the acrolites of crazy cortez who wants to take 3 billion out of the Police Budget even after 7 Police Officers have been shot in one month alone. Two killed and by the way, was aoc at the wake of the funeral . Were these democratic justice warriors in congress did they attend funeral . Not on your life they hate the cops and it is evident in some of their constituents. Lawrence lieutenant the president of the United States made his way to New York City came today after we laid another officer to rest. So not just what you hear from the people on the streets, the president even had the decency to attend officers funeral. It starts right there. Right lieutenant . Well youre talking about respect. Respect for a profession and people who do that profession and it is not coming from the cop. You know, these two young officers rivera and mora lost their lives responding to a call to help someone. Which all of the people you were talking to theyre not going to that call. They dont want to do that is right they want to stay in their fancy land thaw live in instead of dwhieng is right trying to help people and then you end up losing your life and it is tragic. J lieutenant i want to stay with you for a second why do you keep putting on your badge every days own doing your job when you hear these types of comments . Because im not doing it for them. Im doing it for the people who are calling the police and there are a lot of people unfortunately calling the police for help. I do it for the people i work with because theyre part of my family and i know that they need me. So i still have the game. None of the people youre talking to none of the politicians, none of these woke actors, you know, none of them have skin in the game theyll be first ones calling us where someone is coming down on them asking for help so these people, you know, they dont hold account to believe any cop that i know that is out there actually working in these communities that need us. The black and brown communities that need us that have this violence happening, and no one outside of that Community Wants to help them. It is all lip service. Bug the day and day out people who go into these communities, theyre us. People like me, wearing this uniform going in there and trying to help these people have a better life. Lawrence so true curtis youre unified bringing communities together with the police. But it seems like theres a certain segment of the population by the way this is not jus new york but latest example curtis when i went out there when you look at the news you see shooting after shooting not jus when it comes to cops but citizens pushing them to subway and rapes, murders happening every single day so when youre trying to unify community with the police are you hearing outrage from the . Bl because i didnt hear not from one person today. Well, no, no. Not in the area you went i know because i live nearby there. And those are people who, obviously, have a disdain for the police. But when you move into the real neighborhoods what i call the hood where im gard i can angel patrol not just in new york but chitown, washington, d. C. , San Francisco, los angeles you find these people undersiege you know these progressive liberal it is theyre upset that prisoners are put in Solitary Confinement yet in these neighborhoods elderly people are forced to live in Solitary Confinement they have no freedom whatsoever their liberty has been taken we live in home of the brave, america, it is time to start acting brave and take our cities back and these elects officials you notice it is do as i say not as i do. They have Armed Security provided by their police departments, suvs paid by Sucker Taxpayers with Police Officers driving them from place to place. Strip them of their security details, let them feel what average people have to feel leak when they ride the subways walk the streets, and have to negotiate their way through the parkings. And then all of a sudden theyre not going to want to hug those thugs and turn them loose i guarantee you that. Some of them have Law Enforcement and not prieflt. I want you to respond this is suzanne, she posted this on twitter this is what fascism looks like abolish the police. She said this as the funeral was going on for the detective mora. Whats your reaction. Shes irrelevant to me and im not going to waste my time when these two officers are who we should be talking about. What they wanted to do what kind of career they wanted to have that is make changes in the community this they were going to be working in. So it is about them. It is not about some washed up actress of what she has to say what she posted. And this is the problem with social media, like mike said you think you just say anything and no one will punch you in the mouth and hit back. Well you know what youre irrelevant i dont care about you because youre not important rivera and mora nypd officers gave their life, theyre the ones who are important every man and woman who puts on this uniform, theyre important again no politician no dringt attorney, No Progressive District Attorney could do what we do. So they dont hold account to believe us so they can just wallow in that you are selfmiss reis and pity all they want but were the men and women going out and were doing this job. And nobody can tell us that were not doing what were supposed to do. Lawrence lieutenant, thank you seriously thank you from the Fox News Channel thank you for Cross Country theres a lot of american that appreciate you and theres a lot of cops that appreciate you coming on fox representing them. This week is part of our journey together Cross Country i travel to massachusetts where i met a young woman who can coming forward to share her story on addiction and survival involved the deadliest drug in america today, and it is impacting americans in each and every state it is called fentanyl. Britney story began like so many other americans progression of addiction tonight she tellings that story in the hopes that it will save lives. Hi britney thanks for doing this. Tell me when was the first time you got high . I was 13 i started off with just weed actually. So thats how it started off. I didnt like it, though. I automatically got like a huge panic attack everybody was telling me run in circles told me it would get better so i did and i freaked out. And then when i was 14, i tried vicodin and this was in 2007 but i really liked how it made me feel but i had no idea what was going happen after that. Lawrence went from weed to pills and then you have your First Encounter with fentanyl. Yeah so i went to treatment when i was 18 years old for like xanax and opioids in general but when i got out i learn about all of the other drugs like iv ways to use it so 18 and a half to 19 thats when i started. I dont think i knew it was fentanyl in the beginning but as i was more into i knew that i was definitely injecting fentanyl. And that was good. Thats what i wanted. Lawrence today in America Overdoses have skyrocketed and kill more than Car Accidents last week greg abbott issued this warning to nation called out the president the leading cause of death of our fellow americans age 18 to 45 is fentanyl. And President Biden is doing nothing to address that fentanyl problem. Lawrence so youve been in some dangerous situations. Can you tell me a couple. Yeah. So when i was living in south florida, i went to a motel to get drugs because that was the normal thing to do for me. And i went up the stairs and i got tricked by a group of drug dealers. They told me they have them and they didnt have it and they locked the door so i had to make up a ply to get out of the room when i got out of the room i didnt realize they were actually ten or 15 of them they all came out from different sides of the hotel. Lawrence how did you get away . I just ran. I ran but they kept looking for me that was the problem. And i went to a wendys i had to ask manager to let me in so i could hide in the bathroom. Lawrence so you reach a Breaking Point what is the Breaking Point . The Breaking Point i was ten weeks pregnant with my first child and i overdosed. Lawrence what was that day like for you . I just knew that honestly i knew i was going to start feeling her kick soon and that scared me. Because then it was going to be real. Lawrence that was it for you. Why . I didnt want to do that to my own child. Lawrence that mattered to you. Yeah. Lawrence okay. Its okay. [crying] walk me through this. You feel that kick and your next move is i actually went to a clinic which i swore i would never do but i tried everything. I actually had to go on medication to come off of it lawrence what sort of medication . Methadone. Glans all of different programs believe that part of the way that you helped individuals concur this is giving them needles clean needling giving them tools to do or giving them smaller doses. What do you think about those dirchghts different programs is that really healthy . No i dont. Because i think it is it is just making it easier. Because if i didnt overdose when i was pregnant with my daughter i could go to a facility and shoot up i wouldnt have remember i said i was afraid i was beginning to die if i had a place like that why would i stop . Fentanyl is impacting every corner of the country on january 15th in neighboring Hartford Connecticut a Guy Overdosed in a school bathroom. Even more shocking, police have now reportedly found 100 bags of the powerful substance in his bedroom. Another gear people that are watching, someone who may be using right now and thats watching, if you had one thing tell them just one thing what would that one thing be . Keep fighting. Dont give up. Because might not have worked the last time but doesnt mean you cant get it you have to keep trying. But tomorrow might never come so youve got to do it now. Not plan it out. It is never going to be enough. Lawrence thank you so much. I appreciate it. Britney i know youre waving tonight it was an honor to meet you and i want you to thank you for having courage to talk about your journey. Britneys story is one of recovery and hope. She got a Second Chance. But for many people who Encounter Fentanyl theres no Second Chance it took only one encounter with this drug to end it all for my next guest 19yearold daughter. Tragically killed after being sold a pill laced with fentanyl. Matt thank you so much for joining me and im so sorry for loss of your daughter. Matt can you tell me a little bit about your daughter. Yeah thank you for having me. My daughter was 20 years old. My daughter was a very smart whitty funny intelligent young lady attending Arizona State university on a academic scholarship any daughter happened to also suffer from depression, anxiety, and insomnia, and i want to make this clear, that my daughter did not die from an overdose. My daughter purchased what she thought was oxycodone what she received happened to be a Counterfeit Pill made with a fatal dose of fentanyl. She took one pill and it killed her. This is murder. And we need to hold those accountable who are spreading this poison in our communities. You know matt i see why you make that a distinction because earliest story we talked about someone that britney who her journey through recovery she chose that journey she knew when it was laced with fentanyl at times and talks about that journey with me and theres people that simply dont know we saw michael k. Whoms is famous actor who sold fentanyl and they just arrested the four individuals that were connected with that. Matt has there been any headway on people that sold those drags your daughter . Two years to the week after my daughter died, the drug dealer was arrested. Hes being held on federal charges and is being he
