Jedediah these 14 senators obviously all republicans. Where are the democrats coming out and condemning this type of behavior by schumer. Well, this is just more evidence of the partisan games that are going on. I mean, you are seeing it across the board. The American People<\/a> dont, i think, spend much time thinking about the fact on an average day over the last years there have been between 80 and 100 violent incident across afghanistan. This is common and recurring. It is a difficult place. President trump has seized the moment. We are not naive. We all know who the taliban are and what they have done to america. But its time. With a smaller footprint. With a smaller force. And we will accomplish each of those two missions sets that the president gave. Pete you talked about it being conditions based. There is a timeline adescribed to the agreement as well. We are seeing the taliban turn their guns on the Afghan Government<\/a> and the hope is that the Afghan Government<\/a> can survive. Will america be involved in propping up the Afghan Government<\/a> against the taliban should they when i was there. We already saw how powerful the taliban is. Underneath the surface and publicly with violent attacks. The taliban is going after the Afghan Government<\/a>. What if that dynamic changes . Pete, one of the reasons entered into the taliban agreement we unleashed on them. We have been taking it to the taliban under President Trump<\/a>. Thats why they came to us and said we want to have a chance for a different course in afghanistan. Second, we have the full right that if the Afghan Government<\/a> is attacked to defend, you know, we have americans serving alongside many Afghan Forces<\/a> in the field. Its often the case there will be americans colocated there. We have the right. This is a conditions based movement. President trump, were committed to this. We are committed to having the Afghan Government<\/a> and Afghan People<\/a> get to the knowingiating table for the first time in 20 years and begin to plot a path forward. Pete we are not going to intervene ultimately two, three years now from now if the Afghan Government<\/a> cant defend itself. This is afghan issue. That is right. President trump has made clear if two years from now three years from now threat to the United States<\/a> of america we will come right back at it. This Christian School<\/a> here had this storm hit in 12 35 p. M. Instead of a. M. , there would have been 1500 students from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade in the path of this tornado. We are very lucky it didnt happen during the day. Steve no kidding. Because, behind you, it looks like a bomb went off, john. How has had hit the community of nashville and the area around there as well . Have you got to feel like you took a gut punch. Yeah, so this you know, this tornado hit nashville proper and then it started to hop and skip. I think there has been four of these tornadoes. So, it strung out over, you know, 60, 70 miles. And you know, i said this the other day but, you know, its nice to see that even though our country debates and argues about all this stuff all the time politically, its nice to know we still have each others backs when Something Like<\/a> this goes down. I am appalled by his boldface attack on specific Supreme Court<\/a> justices. Abortion rights is an emotional topic. It is one of those things, you know, even more emotional than war and peace, theres nothing more personal than how you feel about choice versus the unborn, the rights of the unborn and so forth but to make that kind of, that threat, that obvious blatant attack on specific Supreme Court<\/a> judges, come on where do you stop . Youre going to give out their addresses next . You going to attack their family and become antifa, senator schumer . This is appalling and its almost like i think ive known him for a long time as well. Its almost like hes jealous that nancy pelosi got all the publicity during impeachment and the senate and his minority status was left out and he played second banana and now hes trying to catch up. Im going to be tougher than pelosi. Its just really distasteful, you know, to do it on the steps of the Supreme Court<\/a> is an attack on the separation of powers that are sanctioned and the constitution of the United States<\/a> and shame on Chuck Schumer<\/a> for that appalling lack of good manner. Steve well you know, he said yesterday, he misspoke, but he did not apologize and this , in the wake of his spokesperson, saying oh, you know, the right wing is taking this the wrong way. They are reading what they want to into it. He was clearly talking about republican senators. Thats a load of you know what. I mean he was not talking about u. S. Senators he was pointing to the Supreme Court<\/a> and he named them. Geraldo his words dont lie, steve. You heard what he said. Everybody heard what he said and when these politicians use these lame ex clauses to retroactively repair something they know rather than straight out apologize, rather than saying ladies and gentlemen, this is an emotional issue i am very very sorry i did what i did i apologize to justice gorsuch, i apologize to Justice Kavanaugh<\/a> , it will never happen again, i understand the Supreme Court<\/a> is off limits. Theres a legislative branch and executive and Judicial Branch<\/a> and the constitution made them independent. They have and Justice Roberts<\/a> was absolutely right the chief judge to criticize him and say hey listen. You come this way, were going to burn you and were going to have a lot of friends when we do it. Pete geraldo well switch gears a little bit to immigration. Geraldo oh, our favorite topic, pete. Pete even though we dont agree but we want your take on a recent development a ruling by the Second Circuit<\/a> regarding sanctuary cities. The president tweeted as per recent federal court ruling the federal government will be withholding funds from sanctuary cities. They should change their status and go nonactuary. Do not protect criminals. Geraldo maybe we can agree. Federal dollars shouldnt go to cities that wont cooperate with federal Law Enforcement<\/a> to enforce illegal. Can we not agree on that . Geraldo we disagree in the same way that the various circuits, the Circuit Court<\/a> of appeals disagree. The Second Circuit<\/a> which is the circuit in which i was admitted to the federal bar, the Second Circuit<\/a> based in manhattan, surprisingly, has sided with the trump adminitration and said the Second Circuit<\/a> has no power to stop the administration from withholding the funds you described, major, formation enforcement or for Law Enforcement<\/a> under the edward burn program thats the program with which the federal government awards state and local Law Enforcement<\/a> some federal dollars to do their job. Steve at their discretion. Geraldo at their discretion. The federal government now has the absolute power to give or not give and if the president wants to not give to sanctuary cities, the Second Circuit<\/a> has now said hes justified in doing that; however, there are contrary rulings in other circuits so theres no doubt, pete, but that the circuits will have to bring this case, this case will have to be argued before the United States<\/a>. Pete but the idea that why cant the federal government withhold money from places that are putting federal agents at risk, when you dont honor an i. C. E. Detainer someone has to track somebody down often a criminal. That puts federal agents at risk , why not withhold that money . Geraldo well, you know, thats a political decision that i happen to oppose. You are in favor of it. The Supreme Court<\/a> has to rule on the legality of it ultimately but on the issue itself, i know because i know i. C. E. Agents and i know people in Border Patrol<\/a> and people in Homeland Security<\/a> and Homeland Security<\/a> investigations the elite investigators who do like the Cartel Investigations<\/a> take down the big guys, they now have been drafted into this effort to flood the sanctuary cities and arrest as many undocumented immigrants as they possibly can. Stuart maybe it was certainly effecting travel and certainly effecting some people not wanting to maybe go out and shop in malls that kind of thing but a very very limited impact thats a blockbuster report. But you see , youve got to look forward here. Thats what the stock market is doing. Thats why the stock market is going to be way down this morning, even though youve got that blockbuster report the futures indicate a loss at the opening bell for the dow of around 750 points.
