Says the fbi agent who delivered the briefing used it as a cover to monitor thencandidate tromp and soon to be National Security advisor, michael flynn, and any mentions of russia. They spied on the campaign, both before and after victory. Both before and after. Never been done before. It is so bad, and if it were the other side, they would have been in jail for two years and it would have been a 50year term. But obama and biden knew everything, and they spied on the campaign of the opposing party using intelligence. Harris the document also states former fbi official peter strzok was one of the two agents who approved the notes. I want to tell the folks at home a little more about that document which, as you know, was declassified by the director of national intelligence, john ratcliffe. He transmitted that over to capitol hill, and that document shows that then candidate trump was briefed, and in fact, his first into the briefing, back in 2016, was led by fbi agents who had just opened an investigation into his teams ties to russia. It was penned by, as you pointed out, signed off by Kevin Kleinsmith and peter strzok, the former fbi agent and one of the key figures in the ongoing russia probe at the time. The president said last night in his conversation with sean hannity that, a lot of things have been learned about the probe and what happened leading up to the election, and after his victory. What happens then is a disgrace, and should never, ever happen again. The president is obviously very passionate about this. I think the real question for a number of folks, not just here at the white house but all over the country, is what will happen to the people that participated in this activity . Was it, in fact, unlawful . Was it just unethical . We talked a great deal about the durham report, and possible indictments. Nothings happened yet. Much to the consternation of the man whose office is not nearly far from where im standing right now. A couple other things i think you should keep an eye on today, harris. We will talk to Kayleigh Mcenany about the stimulus. A lot of americans are depending on that money. They need it. While the president is clearly frustrated, i guess the way it was put to me was head bloodied but unbowed. They will put for this idea of coming up with the stimulus package. Also coming up at some point with a payroll tax cut. Listen, if you ever look at your tax and you see what goes out of it in terms of payroll taxes, the idea of not having that many go out for a while would probably make a number of americans are happy. That is something theyd still like to have, but sometimes you pick your battles. Timing is everything, and they understand right now its about getting something over the finish line to help the millions of americans desperately in need of money right now. Harris . Im going to shift gears a little bit here, because i want to concentrate on where the country is right now. Youve got covid19 polling in many polls, including fox news, as the number one issue for people. Not just expected voters, but all americans, going into this election season. Clearly, thats important, but health being the thing that they are saying is supreme at this point. Also, there is safety and security and economy. Those, falling behind by almost half Percentage Points behind coronavirus. I want to talk about Police Reform right now, because we had such a surge and a spike in crime, in many of our Great American cities. I have made a point that, today, chicago is leading in those federal agents. Mayor lightfoot agreed to do that. Yet, democrats on the hill say they want to wait until they have majority on the hill before they talk about Police Reform. Can the nation wait while democrats wait for a new election . Look, Police Reform is certainly important, like you were mentioning. It needs to stop right away, the violence in chicago. If we wait years and nothing is done, we can certainly wait a little bit more. Certainly, the democratic majority would do a whole lot more than republicans have done it all. I think going back to what you said its a health and security issue. Those are the main things americans are going to be looking at come november. Thats why you see poll after poll of the president her tan, because americans are tired of excuses. Why nothing has been done to save lives. To see the president saying its not his responsibility when it comes to covid. He is wearing the mask, then hes not wearing the mask. Hes going to cancel harris i hear all of that, with the visual we have for millions of americans across the United States is the feds moving into certain cities to try and quell those who have become violent. That is not the peaceful protesters, but those who have taken advantage of the situation, or just criminals finding a way, as they always do. As we deal with that, our visual across the nation are maskwearing, in some cases people in the streets. What satiate so that desire for change, post george floyd . Wouldnt democrats want to lead on that . It is head scratching to me that they would be this capitulation of, well just wait until 2021, when you know you have a candidate whos got to face somebody is going to run on law and order. I can tell you from our side that we have a whole lot better plan, and we care all lot more for communities of color than republicans. This, as joe biden has stepped up his attacks on the president s covid19 response, which you were just talking about, jose, saying, he didnt have to beat this bad, but at every juncture of the crisis President Trump has failed the fundamental role of the president. The duty to care or, in his case, the ability to care about anything beyond himself and his reelection. Jose, i dont know if you have taken the time to watch the president and his most recent renewed task force briefing. The attention that he has given now to reinventing, if you will, what the Rnc Convention will look like. What will happen on the dnc side . First and foremost, the briefings should have never gone away. They went away because President Trump thought magically that covid19 was going to disappear. He should have asked more quickly. He should have acted swiftly from the very beginning, when he knew this was coming. Instead, he harris allow me to step in, just so we are kind of going back and forth with each of the facts. When you say the president should have stepped in early, when the president did step in early, with at least one move and, look, a lot of people will say that was not enough to stop that travels from china is something your candidate, joe biden was quite against, if we are going back to the origins of this. The Justice DepartmentInspector General is now investigating the conduct of feds in portland, and House Speaker nancy pelosi recently referred to them this way. The use of stormtroopers under the guise of law an and or is a tactic not appropriate to our country. Harris talk to me about how this is supposed to go, as now the chicago mayor has had a conversation, lori lightfoot, with the president. Now the feds go in. How does it work for those officers and Police Officers on the ground . Get us a crack into the way its supposed to be. The average citizen is not going to notice really any difference. We already have federal agents in the city, being Third Largest city in the country. Its just basically increasing the numbers. Obviously, we want to focus on street violence, and i would hope that some of those agents are atf agents. I was told yesterday that they did file the First Federal charges on an offender yesterday. So they are already here doing the work. Primarily, thats going to be the focus. From what i understand, its going to be federal charges. The cook county prosecutor, kim fox, is absolutely terrible, to say the least. The chief judge gives almost no bonds. The Cook County Sheriff has the ankle Monitoring Program that is absolutely laughable. Again, these criminals face no repercussions for their bad behavior. So we need it to have a little more punch to whats going on. Harris that brings me to my question, are you glad theyve arrived . Are you glad they are there . Also, couple that with, youve had officers hurt throughout all of this. Look, there are arguments to be made that this should have been done earlier on. Talk with me about them being there now. Are you glad that they are there . Tell me about the course of action with your officers who have been hurt. Well, the officers hurt our separate dynamic. That is specific to the riots, starting on may 29th and 30th, when the mayor, just that morning, that friday morning when i sat down with her for the first time, assured me in very explicit terms that there was no way chicago was going to be minneapolis. But yet, it did happen. They had no plan. She keeps trying to beat down my treat people with kid gloves in the city , and the cities burning down. Its totally different, because thats the violence part. I highlight all the time. You had new york is two and half times the population, yet we hae more murders than new york. Just let that number sink in. Its different than anywhere else in this country, and this mayor has no better grasp than the previous mayor. Its never going away, because all they want to do is keep making excuses for bad behavior. Pretending the people are doing this are some martians from outer space and the disappear after they commit the violence. They want to talk about the guns instead of the people pulling the triggers. The politicians and people charged with Law Enforcement are not keeping them in jail where they should be. The last point, the new superintendent, phenomenal guy. He has highlighted that these offenders need to stay in jail longer. He cant name names, but he pretty much set it without seeing the names. It falls on the cook county justice system. Harris wow.
