I understand there will farmers especially Small Farmers that are worried. I think they trust the president. I think he knows they will take care of them. Performers prefer trade not aid. again despite everybody tearing him down. Of course the other thing is this isnt a mystery that was sprung on the american people. He knew this was how he would do it. Sure, in article five in the United States constitution the power for the people to get together to call a convention. It takes 34 states to do so to restrain the scope jurisdiction of the federal government. It says that in article five. They use article five of the constitution to call a convention to get delegates from all over the country together to oppose amendments to give back
to the people. Take it away and give it back to the people. A lot of people agree with that. What specifically would that look like. What would be written in the amendment. Sure, this application was done on a subject matter bases. There are three Subject Matters that can be discussed. Anything that will put fiscal restrains on the federal government. That would include a balanced budget amendment. Imposing tax and spending caps on the federal government. This is term offlimits on the federal government. That will include elected officials. Finally the most important clause i think and most important discussion is about taking power a way from the federal government by restraining their scope and jurisdiction. They say there are things they might not be engaged in for example education and energy and
the epa and things like that. Okay, thats interesting again. Thats already in the constitution. I cant remember the exact phrase. Its given to the federal government and reserved to the states and people. That has been ignored. Education is a great example. Yeah, you are hitting on the key point when most of us think about the contusion like the pocket constitution. The original and national archives. I have a copy on my desk. 2,738 pages. This is every Supreme Court case to tell us what the constitution means. I know you read it. Its a fairly simple document. It will take several hundred pages. The realty is what they have
done is dramatically expand the scope of the federal government. The way they did that is article five. I want to make sure we are all clear about that point. You are saying the real agent around the expansion of the federal governments powers has been the Supreme Court. Absolutely. Let me give you a specific example. In the 1930s there was a case by wicker and they ruled ultimately a man who grew weak was engaged in interstate commerce. They were given to move across state lines. They want 15 justices on a rotating bases. I agree, it sounds good in
theory but in practice it would be a disaster. We have difficulty with our existing constitution and government. Everybody believes in deregulation and believes the Supreme Court over stepped their bounds. Thats what the president is doing be i deregulating. We have an incredible opportunity.
