Its an Elimination Game in the nbas play in tournament. High stakes tonight, abc seven sports anchor Chris Alvarez is live at Golden One Center with a preview of tonights game. Chris, lets hope Golden One Center goes for golden state. Hahaha. Hey, thats really good. I didnt i didnt write that in the script. Dan i wasnt ready for such a good with these things, ad lib toss to me. Youre very good. All right. And so is steph curry. Well show you whats going on live here at golden one. Center steph curry is on the floor. And Klay Thompson also just joined him. Right now. Warriors and kings the fifth meeting this season. They met four times in the regular season. And would you believe this. Three of those matchups were decided by a single point i mean these teams have played so close all year long. They actually had the same record at the end of the regular season, 46 wins. But because of some tie breakers this game in sacramento tonight, now the warriors are one of the hottest teams in basketball really since late january. Theyve played very well. Theyre playing their best in the last ten. And on the road. The warriors are such a much a better team. Last year they couldnt win on the road this year much better. Steve kerr said earlier this week he likes the vibes of this team. He likes the chemistry of this team and look when you have guys like that steph curry, Klay Thompson, theyve been here before. We all remember last year game seven of the first round playoff series. Stefan went for 50 to lead the warriors to a victory. Klay thompson hell also have to play a big role tonight. Draymond green will come out in a little bit. So this is a huge game for the warriors to just extend their season. Now youre wondering what happens in this play in tournament tonight. What does that mean actually excuse me. The yeah its the play in tournament. So the warriors are the ten seed. They need to win tonight to advance to friday. And right now the lakers and pelicans are playing in that other game. They will play the loser of the Lakers Pelicans game at last check the lakers were up 13 in new orleans. So if that score stood the warriors would have to travel. If they win to new orleans, an Elimination Game, then get to the first round where oklahoma city, the top seed in the west, awaits them. But a lot to be said before then. The warriors are warming up. Look, theyre confident about this team and this game and theyre ready for a fun one. Its loud in here. Were also going to make sure that theyre being exposed to what eighth graders need to be exposed to. Whats helped are its learning labs 70 minutes a day, four days a week, devoted just to math and english. Theres part of the english period thats spent in in a grammar and vocabulary building space. And then theres part thats spent in book clubs and literature circles and, you know, more of like a conceptual and creative space. Teacher Nicholas Ward explains how a recent eighth grade math project involved pitching to members of the community who played the role of investors. The kids had to come up with a right equation and basically pitch their idea to these investors in a room, and i thought that was something i never saw in middle school, ever. Its a charter school, which often means smaller class size and more autonomy over its curriculum. Teachers are willing to slow down and look at data and see like, hey, this is something i might need to reteach with this group or particular student principal grant says.
