Crews timely got their work done and made repairs by 5 30 this morning, but they made a key mistake so their work was torn down again, and look at this mess that were now dealing with out here. One eastbound lane of Pleasant Hill road is closed. Westbound traffic cant turn into this shopping center. Police say the phone and cable lines were installed too low, so when a delivery truck pulled in this morning around 7 30 it hit the lines and brought them down again. This road closure happened so close to the other one, some drivers figured it was the same issue, not knowing that they had made the repairs from yesterdays crash. Drivers tell us they were bummed to have to deal with detours here again today. This is a man through for a lot of people going around the hill instead of the freeway so it makes a big difference backing up traffic, yes. So if its a close and session, it would be worse. School hasnt started yet which makes a difference for a lot parents. A look at the scene from yesterdays crash when a car ran into a power pole. That brought down live wires and homes and businesses lost power. Todays lines are phone and cable so the power is still on in the area. Police arent sure when all of this will be cleared up and completed, but everyone is hoping that this time the lines are installed and hung high enough so nothing will crash into them. We have a slight break in that sidsling heat inland and this is why. Heres the live doppler 7. Low clouds and fog are banked up along the coast and theres a system to the north that will allow the temperatures to just i think stop in the mid90s today inland. I know thats hot, but yesterday it was 99, concord and livermore. Right now looking at mt. Tam where you can see the fog and its comfortable out there. 56, chilly in half moon bay. San francisco in the upper 50s. In the low 70s in san jose and 68 in mountianview with oakland checking in at 63. East bay, nice and sunny here. Its going to be a beautiful day. Low 70s in santa rosa and right now in novato as well as the Delta Southwest at 18. When the southwest wind ramps up a little bit youre getting just enough delta cooling that i think some of the 80s will be a little bit slower to climb today. Yesterday we had a northerly gradient that swept the fog out quickly and it brought the numbers soaring. Heres a look at sutro. Attempts are slightly cooler today into saturday. The heat builds sunday into next week which begins the new month, and well look for still mild to warm weather along the coast and bay, and once again it looks like the coast is escaping from any big heat wave so the hourbyhour forecast shows the low clouds and nothing cozying up to the san mateo cost and then tomorrow its back along the north coast and pushing inland a bit. A couple of days where well enjoy temperate weather though youll notice were still above average in concord. Well be looking at the mid90s, maybe three or four degrees cooler today than yesterday. Elsewhere in san jose, a little bit above average. July has been a warm month in general, and well continue to look for the heat to build in gilroy, but the hottest day looks to be sunday. The garlic festival today, low 90s and tomorrow about the same and sunday looks to be the warmest. Other activities tomorrow night. The athletics looking at tonight, 67 degrees and by 10 00 it will still be on clear side with 60. If youre headed down to san jose, check out the earthquakes looking at temperatures in the low 80s for 45. Highs today ranging from the 60s with cloudy skies at the coast. Mid90s inland. A bit better than yesterday. Download the weather app and highs tomorrow will continue to dip just slightly but dont get used to it because the heat continues to build. Into next week were near 100 degrees by the middle to end of next week and notice the bay warms just slightly and the coast still stays nice out there, so i do love that garlic festival. Oh, yes. Wish we were there. Right. We need to make a trip down there and meet up with matt. Should be fun. Lei safe. Thank you. How about a little bit of italy and shakespeare this weekend.
